That's a new born star, reminded me the ads on tv about a swat team storms into a house because of extremely high power usage, and found a bunch of kids LAN partying and play FPS with these high end cards. :chuckle:
interesting they call it the 460, and havn't renamed to GTX 465 like previous nvidia x2 card efforts.

If I recall that was an AMD/ATI advert?

That's because the 460 replaced the 465 :D

You would be correct =)
nice card , But thoguht it would be a little less and to be honest you might aswell buy 2 460's if your strapped for cash but if your wanting a 580 with a little more grunt and got the cash go for this as it kicks the 580's but ive been told , and is very good value for cash in that way

Aside form the fact the GTX465 already exists as an official Nvidia product, the GTX460 2win is EVGA's own card. It has nothing to do with in Nvidia in the sense of it not being an official SKU.

Yes, if the the Aria specs are right.
combine up to three displays off a single card for the ultimate in 3D entertainmentEVGA said this is why they created the card, and that it's something many customers requested. Seems a little later to market than expected, but maybe 560 / 560 Ti versions will follow now that that this version is proven, perhaps EVGA will start to rival Asus and produce a twin 580 like the Mars 2 (http://vr-zone.com/articles/asus-to-introduce-mars-ii-and-matrix-for-gtx-580/12355.html). In the meantime we need some reviews on this interesting GTX 460 2Win.

would it really make a differance with 2gb on it? Just asking as I dont really notice the differance with my 2 1 gbs sli'd. Perhaps cos Im not a gamer thats why I dont really notice it?

Depends on what resolution you want to play at....
One 460 would be an upgrade from your 8500GT SLI. I assume it you have 8500GTs going off your profile ;)

yeah I do at the moment but hopefully I can upgrade them to 460's by the end of the year :weeee
Why sli 8500gt's???
Just sell them and buy an 8800GT instead wayyyy better.
Plus they don't have the power to use 1GB of RAM its a marketing gimmick mate, probs DDR2 as well.

Or 2 5850s for £200 :D

£200 for a couple XFX 5850's for crossfire and this card gets left in the dust and made to look overpriced and stupid to boot!
580 ;) hahaha
Can these be SLI'd?
No they can't...
5850's in crossfire won't beat this card, they're on par with a 580/sometimes a little bit slower (Have some myself) And this card slightly edges over a 580.

Check out reviews of GTX 460 SLI vs 5850 CF and you'll see that the 5850's win....by some margin..
And it's slower then a GTX580 from what I can see : http://pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-460-2WIN-2GB-dual-GPU-Graphics-Card-Review/F1-2010

Also:
UPDATE: After getting some feedback from EVGA on this, it turns out the SLI connection on the card is not actually working at this time. I asked if/when it might be enabled but haven't gotten a response on it yet. A commenter on this article actually pointed out that NVIDIA indicated in its own forums that the inclusion of the connector was a mistake completely but it was too late to have them removed. So...it turns out you are likely going to have to stick with the performance of the GTX 460 2WIN as is.

Also:
Yea I clocked that on page 1 as well...
Although I've always known about it not supporting quad sli...
It's an overpriced fail of a card...
More expensive then 2 brand new GTX460's...
More expensive then a faster 5850 crossfire set-up
Not that much cheaper then buying a couple 6950's
Not fast enough to warrant buying it over a GTX580
And people can't even buy it for quad SLI use...
EPIC FAIL EVGA...
It's a good card but the price is a bit too much imo.
agree with the sentiments of it being overpriced but it bodes well for more x2 cards moving foward and that cant be bad thing

HD 5850 crossfire beats GTX 460 Sli in 7 out of 11 Benchmarks here http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/303?vs=314
At £200 for HD 5850 crossfire and over £350 for GTX 460 2 Win I know which I would spend my money on lol
Also HD 5850 crossfire beats GTX 580 in 8 out of 12 benchmarks here http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/303?vs=305
HD 5850 crossfire is easily best bang for buck around atm..

Yeah better and cheaper, you have to wonder who exactly will buy this card, What is the target market? Its priced way to high imo, if I was going Nvidia would rather have a single GTX 580 than this card, and rather have crossfire AMD HD 5850's if I was concerned about bang for buck.
All these other top end cards keep making my HD 6990 look like good value though :)

Agreed, the only advantage of this card is this "up to three displays off a single card for the ultimate in 3D entertainment"

Get a 5670 for that :p
Meh, it's not tempting me from a 6950 Crossfire
nice looking card if it came out 7 or 8 months ago would have been alot better.
Seems to be too many other things aailable cheaper.
would need to be about £100 cheaper to tempt me but then i might of got 2

You can't SLI them.
You can't SLI them.
make it £200 cheaper and a physx card then :D

It has an sli finger on the top?
Actually thinking was this the card that apparently has the sli finger on top but can't actually make use of it?
I've done a lot of tests of the 1GB EVGA GTX 460 FTW, both single and SLI (tons more to do,
with loads of other cards to test aswell):
http://www.sgidepot.co.uk/sgi.html#PC
2GB is only useful at very high res and/or high detail for newer games, but the 460 doesn't
have the raw performance to handle that level of gaming; even with 2 cards it'd be straining
somewhat at 2560x1600 for Crysis2, Metro33, etc. on high detail.
At 1920x1200, two 5850s, or rather whatever newer product from either company, would be
more sensible with a budget of 360, or even a couple of older top-end 460s, eg. two of the
original 1GB FTWs is also 360 and obviously way quicker than a single 2GB 460. Worse though,
2GB 460's core clock is rather low. I thought the whole point of the 'WIN' branding was that
such parts would be at higher clocks than normal, etc.
If one does wish to play at high res though, and has 360 to spend, then a single 2GB 6970
is only 250 (much quicker than a GTX 460 and it can handle high-res/detail), so some
change left over. Or, for 400, two 2GB 6950s in CF would be excellent.
The NVIDIA options are not quite so attractive atm, with only 1.5GB RAM, while 3GB variants
and the 590 are kinda expensive.
Ian.
