hard drive question

hey guys

at the moment i have 2 500gb drives in in a raid o config in my pc giveing me 931gb of space the thing is i want to add a bigger drive to boost this up seen how i have had the pc 2 weeks and used near 350gb

the thing is i dont want to put it in the raid config with everything else i just want it to show up as a separate hard drive (like c: and D: ect)

ok now for the question would i be able to just plug it in, load up windows and format the drive or would it have to be done though the bio's

Just plug it in boot up and goto disk management via Control panel > Administrative tools > computer management > disk management. From here you will be able to right click on the new drive to initialise it, then format it.
