View Full Version : DIAG TOOL
reagrding my freezing hard drive
ok i just contacted samsung for help regarding warranty
they gave me contact details of rexo a company that sorts out samsung warannty stuff (not suprisingly the guy that pickked up phone could not even speak english)
know it all comes down to proof
iv changed my sata cables
swapped drive
daig my ram
run prime on my cpu no prob
so its not any of those stuff wich leaves me at HD
when my pc freezes (if audio is on it would stutter)
and HD light goes of
samsung say i need to run ES TOOL which doesnt seem to be working
iv run chkdsk which is useless
i will be very gratefull if someone can give me a third paty or any good software that will check my hard PROPERLY THRUOGHTLY
that way before i send my hard drive of to rexo i know that it def 100% is hard drive
Is it under warranty?
of course brugoht it few weeks ago
it has 39/36 month warranty
why not return it to supplier?

If it's confirmed faulty it may have to go to manufacturer for replacement, can take up to 28 days but usually less than that

did you ever install the os on the 500gb drive with the 250gb disconnected?
the only one i can think of is samsung tools, thats the one I use here at aria for testing samsung hdds
it'll probably cost you more to send to samsung and they'd probably charge you a whopping fee if it isnt faulty.

samsung website does not give any such notice?
nor does rexo?
another thing that is a problem this may be a problem may not show up on any daig or test
becouse it freezes randomly sometimes it doesnt freeze for entire day or two then freeze
but aria wont know this they still clasifty not fualty ill bee charged 6.95 nad no to postage refund thats allot of money (iv already pseant allot on this build)
just got a friends floppy drive
es tool on both drives NO ERROR
memtest 1 hlaf hour NO ERROR
prime toture test 3hours NO ERROR
dxdiag test NO ERROR
does this rule out that my freezing is not hardware related?
only 2 culprits left
OS is messed
or

I would suggest that it's a faulty cable, i had a machine in for diagnostics that was the same symptoms, changed the sata cable for a new one, problem gone away.
