Is there any software for auto backups?

Hi All,

I'm currently looking to purchase a USB hard drive for backing up the contents of my parents desktop pC and wondered if anyone knows of any software so they can just plug the hard drive in and select to back up all their files? They'd probably be doing this weekly.

Any ideas / suggestions greatly appreciated.

i bought a maxtor external for my step dad last year and it had software in it that did auto backups everytime you shut the pc down.

Acronis would be a great bet, you can create and schedule jobs or just run jobs on the fly whenever you want. you can image files and folders or image your entire system into one big .tib file and should your pc ever go tits up you can simply restore it totally including windows and your documents, drivers and printers etc.
