it would be nice news to hold on to if you knew your 2 biggest competitors were about to do a big deal.

i mean 4ghz stock is bigger news than sli on intle boards

Saw this a couple of days ago on Toms,

If it had been broken by a known site, I may have believed it, Although from the consumers point of view I hope that it is ture

It'd be great if they did give intel some proper competition. I just hope they price it wisely. The first lot of FX's were SO expensive - they all have been actually! But if they price this right, it could be great :)

They would need like 200w and some seriously good cooling.

"There's said to be two chips in the pipeline, the FX-80 at 4Ghz and the FX-82 at 4.4GHz.
The FX-80 at stock out performs a 5.0GHz Kentsfield"

Last sentance isn't bad, imagine overclocking the FX-82 then?

And in theory, wouldn't that make the whole CPU equivalent to a 20ghz kentsfield? (In an ideal world)

so it will beat the Kentsfield... So does Yorkfield!

why are they aiming to beat intel's 65nm quad?
