I use IE7 here at work. It crashes every time I try to do a search on eBay for some reason!! It also doesn't display a lot of webpages properly. IE7 is pretty, but is even worse than IE6! Firefox all the way!!

Just lately I've found that if I view anything in media player for more than a few seconds, it causes my entire PC to crash!!

IE7 is still Beta though remember.

Been excellent for me, i reckon its something to do with Media Player11.

WHat version you using?

Try upgrading to 11.

It looks alot better, and might solve your issues. :)

Doesn't that involve Windows validation?

xp is the one playing up - most likely codec pack as it goes bonkers also when i open avi files... especially if they are large.

downloading the beta now :) pity its a beta... :P

wow bashes you for validation on install.... hmm....

but you can extract with Winrar for example... then run \"wmp11\" and it bipasses all that nasty validation gubbins :)

SP2 setup style.. :) hehe will tell you how i get on :P might fluff up yet.

*edit*
crashed on load... error report.. hmm... will turn off and on agen for when i come back nipping out :) so will see if it works when i get in :) if not ill just format

Sorry people for the bad advice.

Ill try explain:

I had the problem looking over the network, it was seriously bad.
Windows would crash basically all the time.

Several Weeks Later my Hard Drive died.

(Brand New hard drive, everything works fine) Go figure!!!!

A little while ago, i had the problem viewing video's online.
IE7 could view the video but if i started, looking at different tabs or using the controls on the online video player it would Not Respond

So a upgraded to Windows Media Player 11 as there isn't much on the internet about it.

And it seemed to of solved my problem, until recently its started coming back.

Exact same problem with Netscape, Firefox, and Opera. Learnt to deal with it in the end.

hmmm now i dont have a working WMP :P Whoops!

Oh well thanks for the advice belso was worth a try m8 :)

looks like im \"add/remove windows components\" shortly.. now where did i put my discs... :P

i suppose if i remove the WMP11 - it will *fingers crossed* remove the dodgy codec pack i got from microsoft too :P think this was the original cause of the problem....

will keep you posted if it works ;) might help you sort yours out robin =)

GRRRRRR it doesnt \"remove\" it just removes all teh shortcuts - doesnt require CD for removal or installation - so im stuck with WMP11 !

Marvellous !

Any ideas chaps :) ? (and chapesses of course :P )

now im going on halo for an hour then ill sort it :P go whupp some flood's A55 :D

*edit* no luck - removal from add/remove programs <didnt think to look> the rollback doesnt work :P suprise suprise... Softpedia has removed the links from their site - awaiting a \"final release\" problematic beta maybe ???

FIXED IT and BOY does it look funky !!! :)

If you extracted like i did - - i ran wmp11 install.. and wmfdist11 ... takes ages to do both then reboot :)

Gets it ******** out a knot anyway ;) cant roll back to 10 tho but nevermind :)

*edit*

No visualisations HOWEVER this has a TINY footprint- *exactly* half that of Winamp... 16mb playing mp3 apposed to Winamps (a little over) 32mb...

thumps up for the player and how it looks :) just no visualisations ??

I DL'd the real M$ build a few months back and it had visualisations in it, but I don't like running too many BETA's for long as they can cause the whole system to be at some risk...

So I chickened out and hit the Acronis Restore button ;)

Looks nice though.

IE7 is gonna be sharp. It's now at RC1 which is halfway out of BETA, yet still has some horrible problems which need sorting. It craps all over FFX as regards RSS feeds, and I believe the Moz Devs are working on FFXv2 right now...

Who said the browser wars were over

I use IE7 and have done since beta2 and can say i have only ever had problems with 1 website and that was sorted when RC1 was released.

Ie7 RC1 is still buggy... just try saving ultra complex url strings as one of your bookmarks and it will refuse, and there's no real tab focus controls as yet - I like it... don't get me wrong... but it's far from finished yet

Im hoping we can get skins for IE7 this time.

I've never had any problems with any site so far with IE7.

I've had more problems with Firefox
