If you reboot, it may take a couple of times, Windows should load your profile.

If you wish to continue with what you are trying, log into the Admin account and then copy the information across. (this can be caused by hitting the reset so often)

Which HDD do you have the os on the 250 or the 500?

With the freezing issues you are having and now this i am begining to suspect that
you either have a hdd fault or an incompatibility between your board or hdd.

I would suggest that you disconnect the drive with Windows installed and re-install windows onto the other drive. then test for freezing with the other drive still disconnected.

just leave it until you have windows set up on the other drive, if/when windows proves to be stable, you can reconnect it.

yeah but by installing windows and knowing it's stable then installing the other drive it starts freezing you know its the other drive

Are all your optical drives Sata? What Sata mode have you got set in the bios?

I have an old Maxtor drive that refuses to work under AHCI mode, but it works fine in IDE mode.

can I have that in English?

The fact that your drive is not picked up correctly in the bios sounds like 99% of your problem!

Try changing the sata cable!

I think this is what you mean

Execute the program by typing A:\> ES Tool.exe in DOS prompt.

You're supposed to boot off of a dos Disk and run that util, not run it from windows, as windows will normally not allow software access at the hardware level

Execution

ES Tool is a DOS based utility so it is needed to prepare a bootable 1.44-MB diskette in advance.
Download ES Tool.exe on the diskette prepared from the internet.
Reboot the system by above diskette.
Execute the program by typing A:\> ES Tool.exe in DOS prompt.
Please Back-up your data before executing this program.

Why bother with the f8 bit?

Ok, so I downloaded the zip, extracted the iso, rather than burn to cd I mounted it as an image in Virtual PC, it works as it should, so have you tried to boot with it and not press f8, just let it do it's thing?
