Very good price! I need one to upgrade my 30GB SSD (only have 1.5GB free space )
Anything for the Agility 3? Would there be any noticeable performance difference between Solid 3 and Agility 3? Solid has 20,000 of 4KB random write IOPS while Agility has up to 60,000. Stated here (http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/36304/OCZ-launch-Solid-3-and-Agility-3-SSDs). Not sure about reading.

For non-enterprise usage, I doubt you would notice much difference in real-world scenarios. To put it into perspective, mechanical drives struggle to do much more than 100-200 IOPS.
epic prices :drool::drool::drool::drool:
been putting off the SSD for a while now, but this may make me buy one, plus payday tommorow, who could resist ?
That's great pricing, the 120gb is the one to get considering its double the capacity for only £75 more. If only i could afford it tho :(

My motherboard doesn't have SATAIII, need to upgrade that first. Otherwise would go for Kingston 96GB SATAII
its going to be difficult recommending the new crucial offerings with their inferior write speeds over the new ocz range unless they have some extreme design flaws. lets see what the other companies like kingston and mushkin bring to the table.
This is better than my current SSD. Damn you all to hell! :)
Should I get this as a drive to store my games on, decisions, decisions!

Oh balls in a bag, just spent £160 on a leather jacket, that SSD would have been far more fun. :/
now that's a great price :thumb:
You'll be mad not to buy one of these at the pre-order price or buy a different SSD!
High chance of me ordering the 120gb one by the end of the night :D.
WOW!! I expected the speeds, but at that price!! WOW
Brain - Must resist... Must resist...
Body - Just clicking checkout.....
Doh....
Ordered the 60 gig for the new build.
You have just made my Crucial look very slow and expensive :(

Ordered the 120gb one! @catrain Should be ordering another one in a week or so after the credit card cut-off point :P :D. (And if anyone is querying whether I'll be selling my current one, I'll be selling it to wuyanxu when this one comes).
i already have a vertex 2E but im tempted to get another SSD to put steam onto decisions decisions
That is a superb price... shame about the IOPS though!

Would like to know myself too.

no they are slower than the vertex 3not taht a normal user would be able to tell the difference
purchased a 60Gb, drive to stick some games on I reckon...
Until I get a motherboard supporting SSD Cacheing, then my Mushy can get relegated to bitchdrive.
Just ordered a 2nd 120gb one, man I need more self control.

actually, i think ur GPU setup is heavily underpowered!

Use 40gb Mushy as storage drive for a few more steam games @catrain
my bro is after a small SSD.
anybody know if these drives are getting released in the 40GB version for cheaper?

40gb = boot drive
60gb = steam/games drive
thats how id do it probably :)!
their real world performance differences probably wont be noticeable :)

Just noticed that I posted pretty much the same post as my last in this thread earlier, then totally forgot... oopsy.

Was just thinking of pulling the trigger on the 120GB version then i read about the OCZ Agility 3 with 525MB/s read and 500MB/s write with 50k 4k IOPS (over 2x).
This drive retails everywhere at the same price as the Solid 3, very strange for a higher performing unit.
Aria will you please stock the Agility3 for this pre-order price im ready to buy ( I think ;) ) :D

Yes, others have the agility at the same price as the solid, granted none of them have the same great price on the solid but if Aria can get the Agility in at that price I would so buy it :)
Just plucknig up the courage to go for an SSD, don't want to lose out before i even order it :P

The read speed (more important) is more or less the same for the 120GB version between the two models.
4K random speed is the important factor for SSD IIRC, so both drives would be brilliant
the speeds on these drivers a just WOW WOW
Hi Guys,
Just a quick message to say unexpectedly the SSDs both 60 & 120s are due today!!
This is your last chance to buy. As soon as we book these in stock, the price goes up.

vertex 3 is a better drive stat wise but once the prices go up there wont be much in it if u need a SSD i would bite rawz hand off b4 the prices gets hiked up
any idea on price after today?
I dont have £100 at the moment! :(

which is a nice little saving for saying you wont really notice any real difference in speeds
The preorder price for the 120gb is a bargain. The 60gb less so. I have only got around £50 left until august after my computer upgrade, potentially a bit more if I sell my current SSD so better wait till next gen! :)
I already have a OCZ 60GB Vertex 2E SSD but need more space on my main drive
Rawz, will they be shipped today? :)

Just noticed it doesn't come with any Sata 3 cables to go from it to the mobo, is this normal on most parts? That they don't come with connectors to the mobo etc? If so im going to have to add a load of cables to my shopping list for my new build!

You'll find the motherboard will come with plenty of cables. Mine certainly did on my recent Aria custom build.

In my experience you normally only get SATA cables with motherboards. How many you get with a board varies, typically 2 for budget boards and 4+ for more expensive ones. Often if you google (youtube) '<motherboard name> unboxing' you can find an unboxing video which will show you exactly what you get in the box. Some motherboard manufacturers (not all) will also specify the accessories on their website.

I know exactly how you feel .. :)
ps. I still couldn't overclock my 955 to beyond 3.7GHz, can boot but not prime stable (BSOD). Temp is about 53 degrees at 3.7GHz @ 1.5V. May be that's because mine is c2 not c3, or the 785 chipset/mobo limiting it. :(

More shocked by the speed of the array, but I guess Raid 0 does tend to excel in artificial benchmarks?

it's cutting it a bit close, since im leaving at around 2pm on friday. so why don't you keep it until June.
NAND is never that good in write. try perfectly compressible data then the Sandforce drive should perform very well
