Hi all

Recently bought the proteus Annubis - very impressed with the kit but I've experienced a few problems since.

At random times, I get the dreaded BSOD.

(0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xfffffa8007f44028, 0x00000000be200000, 0x000000000005110a) refers.

No idea what's causing it - I haven't done anything to the setup, and it seems to happen completely at random. ( I was playing win chess at one point!)

Any ideas?

Just done a bit of digging in the forums and I've seen some suggestions.

I've run the mem test function on the MB - states its all fine.

How do I go about underclocking the processor (another suggestion on other posts) to more acceptable level?

press delete on start up to enter bios, search through the tabs to find 'load defaults' save then exit.

Thanks for that

I've clocked it down to 4.5 to see if its any better.

Will update if I find anything else

ah right.fwiw i think SB processors are more unstable than many let on. a guy i know ran prime95 for 24hours no problem at 4.8ghz on this 2500K. a few hours after stopping prime opened a game, boom BSOD

hi,

I had that exact bsod error code a couple of days ago with my i5 2500k @4.5. I have since lowered mine down to 4.2 and its running fine. Not sure if that is the problem but just taught id give my two cents

even though they are tested ok when they are sold it depends on what conditions you have them in. sometimes people have them in warmer environments and they just like to play up.

i down clocking isnt a problem esp with the sb processors, they are very fast at stock anyway so i dont think you are missing out on much. :)

Just an update - I clocked it down to 4.5 and (touch wood) it seems to be running fine (gaming or idle).

Highly recommended PC (even if the supplied mouse and keyboard is awful!)

i have the same BSOD 124 error code on my Dominator 560Ti Gaming PC (Sandy Bridge REV B3) system , i started a thread elsewhere on this forum but with no replies , i since found out with 124 its either gonna be a hardware problem or more likely an unstable overclock , i am now running at 4.5 for 4 days with out a BSOD si fingers crossed !
