Hi, a few months ago i bought an Asus P5K premium from Aria,
I'd read the supported memory list and saw that my Corsair dominator
CM2X1024-8500C5D was suuposed to be supported,
I've been on corsair's support forums, and it's looking like there's nothing wrong with the ram (althought their forum is filled with problems surrounding Asus boards)
my ram passed the memtests, please feel free to read the thread:

as you can probably tell i'm at the end of my tether regarding this hardware
problem, it's put me off Buying Asus and Corsair again,
I feel the need to RMA both ram and motherboard to try and get a result,
I don't want to part with any more money, due to the cost of the initial purchase, I really expected much higher quality,
I don't want to be tinkering in BIOS anymore, other brands work right out of the box, so why shouldn't high calibre parts like mine be the same?

my board was purchased on 13/03/08

any help greatly appreciated.

What is the problem?

What power supply do you have? If you say its errrm... generic, buy a new one before you blow up your computer.

to get the best out of any hardware 9 out of 10 times you will be required to change settings in your bios.

having said that your situation does seem abit extreme, from my experiance with doms in asus boards you need to bumb the northbridge voltage a notch and that normally fixxes it.

if i was you i would swap 1 or the other, corsair seem happy to swap your ram and you should get some back that will work fine with your chipset.

I like a company that's willing to sort the problem. Sounds like Asus are being obtuse with it. I had similar issues when my laptop monitor went, ended up just shelling out for a new laptop, they wanted more tha the value of the original laptop to replace it.

the problem is my PC is unbootable, as you can see in the corsair thread,
the motherboard manual says the ram i have is supported in their QVL,
but it takes a lot of repeat BIOS fiddling every time i need the PC,
the only way i can stop it is to put the PC to sleep,
but if the PC loses power for a few hours, then it's CPR function engages, and
wants me to enter bios again, even if the board was on auto settings the previous session,
I have a Hiper 770w PSU by the way, i only used the generic one to test,
as per the Corsair thread.

Fine by me, I just won't ever buy their boards again, or recommend them,
it's all they deserve for lying on their manual tbh.

I've heard of alot of people having problems with the dominator stuff.. Although, I dont really know what to suggest as a fix... Everyone I know of ended up sending their ram back for a replacement..
