When I eventually get the funds together for a new build I was thinking of getting an Asus P5Q-E (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Socket+775+(Intel)/Asus+P5Q-E+iP45+Socket+775+Motherboard+?productId=32296) with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Fans%2C+Heatsinks%2C+Coolers/Socket+775/Arctic+Cooling+Freezer+7+PRO+?productId=20729).
However when browsing through the superspecials I came across THIS (http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/MSI+P45+Zilent+*Zalman+Edition*+IP45+Socket+775+Mo therboard+?productId=32485) msi p45 mobo with a zalman cooler.

They are roughly the same price, so I was wondering which one you guys would go for.

Cheers.

i use the Zalman 9700 on my board and it does a very good job :) bit noisy on full though :(

Yeah I read that the included cooler runs quite noisy, but if your mobo has a 4-pin fan connector it changes it's speed and therefore noise depending on the load.

I suppose my original question breaks up into 2 questions.

Msi or Asus mobo?
Zalman or Arctic Cooling cpu cooler?

i think the msi, it should run cooler as it has better heatsinks on the nb/sb and the zalman is marginally better than a freezer pro, but like nft said they are loud.

The freezer Pros aren't exactly quiet at full speed either!

One more question, does anyone know the full name of the msi board, just so that I can get more in depth info.

A google for P45 Zilent brought up lots of options.

Cheers.

Seems to be the p45 platinum which is £126 on it's own from aria. But you can get it with the zalman fan for £110.
