So I bought this today and am blowing through it on the beginners level to get acquainted with the whole setup, never played a CoD game before.
This rocks, anyone else play this?
Yeah almost all of us play it, we had a competition on it once, there was even a server! Ahh the good ol' days...

play thru it on vet or you will just get watsed on mp m8 and keep playing the sp till you get ragtime cod in the cheats options, it still makes me pmsl to see that 1.

Played it for a while last night and really loved it. Great fun. I picked up Crysis today so at some point in the week I'll have to install that and it it up my new PC to shame.
Did like playing CoD4 online that much, are there any anti-cheating servers, it seemed to me that some people were platantly using wallhacks and the like.
I'm missing Counterstrike!
I want to play CS: S again but cant atm :( Cant even play half life 2 as it needs to go online :(

I use headphones and can hear where people are, couple that with being able to shoot through a lot of walls and you can tell how people seem to be wallhacking.
Not to mention if you play arcade mode you can see people on the radar to similar effect.
Hardcore mode is where its at, couple of hits and your dead, no radar, virtually no HUD. I love it :mrgreen:
Make sure you have punkbuster installed and are filtering by servers with punkbuster enabled.

alex if spot on, i have an xfi soundcard and when i bought the card the header on the ad poster said "its a wall hack for your ears" and in this game its true :D i can hear people reloading their gun from miles away n/m footsteps.
I normally play in a [RIP] server the domination one think they have about 4 servers..thats in hardcore mode and u do see a lot of ppl trying to join that get kicked by punkbuster so at least you know they do something about cheaters..you may find the odd one that gets past it but that could be down to pb not knowing about that hack

What a beautiful game.
i feel the same about crysis as mac does cod4, great sp, mp=epic fail.

I'm really enjoying CoD mp, how come others don't like it?
It's strange getting used to the rankings system and obviously that makes it hard to work your way up, but I find it actually hooked me in more. I feel a lot more involved when I play because of the targets, and knowing others have a bigger advantage makes it more satisfying when I fire a grenade from the launcher on my gun through their chest.
once you have got the usp .45 your away.
easiest way to begin is get 25 kills with every gun, then get another 50 with them all.
you get xp bonusses for it and it ranks you up quicker.
if you give me your xfire i will come and play, i aint for a while and tried last night but dam i was rusty.
I found the MP sooooo annoying and deathmatch like, spawning in front of enemies and getting killed before you hit the ground 4 or 5 times within 30 seconds or so just isn't my idea of fun. Also it seems to play so slow compared to CSS. I am VERY picky where fps games are concerned 2142 titan maps, great, ctf (or however they described it) utter SH!TE.

I have to admit I was rather incredulous at all the spawn-killing. Back when I used to play online before that was always considered bad etiquette, I guess the times have changed.
it still is in some circles but the spawns in this game are screwed up, you can get shot from nowhere and it will spawn you 10 foot behind the guy who shot you.
the flip side is that people can (and will )spawn 10 foot infront of you too, and if you dont shoot them they will shoot you.
swings and roundabouts, you can spend 25% of the round waiting to spawn coz you was just raped or it spawn you at the back of the map and you spend 25% of the round running to the front line.
shipment on mp is ridiculous, you spawn inside other people in a 54 player server.
i dont get to play mp much, because i'm using my mates game with his key, so if anyone knows any good keygens for cod4....
sp is one of the most realistic campaigns i've ever seen, right down to the ragdoll phys. i could go on for ever, i love it when games that are meant to be realistic, actually are very realistic. I do love a bit of si-fi though...
I also have CSS but it is having lots and lots of problems on my pc. somthing known as the looping sound crash, google css looping sound crash if you want to know more, i've tried many fixes for it, but nothing works. i just hope when i get my new mobo and cpu it will work...
The issue with spawnkilling is that servers rotate tiny maps when they have a large number of people.
I usually go for hardcore servers with <30 players and then you get a good game with plenty of space to do flanking moves etc. I am a 'UAV jamming, silencer fitting, shooting you in the back' wh*re :P
20 man server is the sweet spot imo.
I usually play hardcore also... last stand is so fun on it because a desert eagle kills in mainly 1-2 shots

lol their probably just been downloaded then put onto a disk with a virus, I wouldn't if i were you. (happened to my mates many times, until I told them how to download it themselves.)

well, er, someone has not received any threatening letters from his/her ISP - unlike many other people who've been caught.
And that person's ISP is virgin media :evil:
Ive never been caught and ive used peer guardian for years
There are cases though where people have been caught and using peer guardian, so i wouldnt say its 100% proof
I'd say nothing is 100% proof/certain when it comes to that sort of stuff.. But there are certain things you can do to improve your chances of survival.. hehe ;)
who else has tried the zombie mod servers..I'm having more fun on these than normal multiplayer now..normally be playing in [RIP] BtD Zombie
