You do realise that LGA775 has been around since 2004 and most of us were fully aware of a new socket coming end of this year? :P
Yeah your rig will hold up just fine.
Im gonna hold fire ATM for my up grade :D
any way DDR3 is EXPENSIVE and the new boards would probabaly be as well.
i heard intel realeasing high ends early and mid range after so in total for moey worth pc its be another year or two since it becomes afordabale

Won't happen.
It won't be as expensive as people are making out either
We'll only see X58 boards this year. These will quite easily be £150+.
The CPU's will be priced similar to how the Q6700 and Q9300 is today and upwards.
DDR3 is at around £60-90 for a decent 2GB kit. I'd suspect we're talking £90-120 for 3GB tripple channel kits and around £200 for 6GB kits. By the year's end hopefully we'll see a decent drop in price although I suspect there won't be any major drops for a while as DDR2 will be manufacturer's main proportion of production for a bit longer.
To be honest whose gonna pay out a hell of a lot more for a little bit of performance, ive heard the increase is minimal.
Does anyone want to club together to by OGC a new keyboard? Seems to be missing some letters, and getting others mixed up :p
