Sapphire 3870 problems

Anyone else having problems with a sapphire 3870 512meg? i brought one along with Vista ultimate 64bit a few months ago and every now and again all of the fans start screaming then my rig locks up before i get a pop up saying "Display driver atikmdag stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

yeah, this problem has only happened about 6-7 times so far and mainly when i am gameing :evil: it just comes seemingly out of nowhere and without anywarning, and if it's a card problem it will surely make it difficult to rma it? due to the fact that 99% of the time it's ok

mt hd3650 is doing the same thing under Vista x86.

i am just waiting for the next driver to see if this helps.

Hopefully otherwise i'll be throwing my old X1900XTX back in i think (never had any probs with that apart from the fan being noisy )

Are there any beta drivers you could try?

I just have a toddler in my PCI-express with some crayons and a pack of paper... it's fast, but the vector drawing accuracy isn't great, and there are occasional colour problems.
