I'm on 50mbs service and have had no issue's.

I've even got the superhub that so many have claimed to have issues with, I've had none. Had cable on & off for years, I used to work for them when it was Nynex and never had any major issues with them or there kit.

Maybe lucky I don't know but I would say go for it.

Mostly happy... I do keep having the odd connection dropout that Virgin have been completely useless trying to diagnose

But I live with it.

does anyone just have virgin broadband without all the tv/phone stuff?

im happy with sky tv, but i can imagine halfing my broadband speed to be annoying, especially when theres 2 pc's/2 laptops usually on at the same time (kids), and 2 xbox 360s caning live all bloody night, and when im wanting to raid on wow, i dont fancy lag

so what ya reckon?

My 50mb is getting installed on the 30th so I'll let yer know!

One thing someone might be able to help me with...my BT bill is due to come out my account on the 1st of May with line rental and broadband paid up untill July but with said Virgin to be installed on the 30th would I still be obligated to pay the BT monies upfront, I'm not on any fixed contract with BT anymore but unsure on this one and before I have to go through the rigmarole of BT call centre dudes:knock:

If you contact them before the bill is to be produced then they can adjust the bill for the forthcoming month and cancel it from the date you give, if the date goes over this then they would usually say they want paying for the month upfront and will refund the difference on the next bill.

Ahh yes sadly the bill is here with me, I'll give them a ring anyways and see if I can get something off it, not that I'm too fussed they been overcharging my lazyness for too long so it will be good to see the back of em.

Cheers! :thumb:

Another happy 50mB customer here. Getting usually 50.4 in SpeedTest. Used to get 1.7 up and we were due to be upgraded to 5Mb upload in July.

We got the upgrade early two weeks ago so now I have 50.4 down and 4.9 up.
This translates into something like 5.9MB/sec down and 614K/sec up.

Anyone on 100Mb yet? ...if so what speeds u getting up and down?

Tech support is very bad... basically Indian call centre that follows scripts to do a power cycle:/ Like they say...it’s all good till it goes wrongJ

This is true, but I got a refund as have had a loss of service.

In the last 12-18 months of having the 50Mb connection I have recieved that speed for 95% of the time. There is the odd time the speed drops (like now) but in most circumstances it goes back to full speed within an hour or so

Been on Virgin since before 2000 (back when it was NTL), started off on 1meg I think. They increased it to 2 then 10 and I'm still paying the same as I was!

Only ever had 2 problems, one with screwed up billing and one with a fault. Once you get past the terrible Indian call centre stage thing seem to go a lot smoother.
