hmm along with the ceo quiting it's looks a bit bleak
well to be honest i carnt say im shocked. I couldnt really see AMD in business in the next year or 2 as i mean there processors are just not as good as Intels. Also, theres hardly any advertising of AMD. Where with Intel you see the Intel logo on ever 3mins advert break nearly.
Since AMD own ATI and the current 4850's and 4870's are easily giving Nvidia a good beating I really hope they don't go under :(
plus imagine how high intel and nvidia prices would go with no competitor to keep them in check
Good point from coiler, it would be pretty bad for AMD to go under, they need to get back in the game with some good processors and sort intel out for a change.
If they were to put the prices up too high no1 would buy their products then they too would go bust...

BUT without AMD who is there to actually put a value on a new technology?
Intel bring out a new 8core chip for example in a years time, it retails for £899.
Who can say the price isn't correct? its a new tech they can set the price on all new chips and justify it however they want LOL
We're all royally stuffed if AMD goes under. I still don't see it happening though. They'll pull through.
