View Full Version : Show me your cpu-z results (verified of course ;o) )
This is with my net pc, i was bored so i have been a tweaking, got as far as the bios would allow me so i downloaded a little prog called CLOCKGEN (http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php) that allows you to tweak in windows, now normally i don't like these type of progs and the only reason i used it on my net pc was because i had maxxed out the fsb in the bios, poxy thing only goes upto 240.
Cpu-z can be found HERE (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php)
Anyway here is the verified cpu-z result for my net pc, what you guys and gals running under the hood then??

That's probaby because you haven't locked your RAM and it's being overclocked as well.
I can't find an option to lock ram..i can lock pci/agp bus..but for ram the only options there is are : auto, then the speeds upto 200mhz which was the one i picked
yea my comp sucks :(
i have ddr 400 memory and it only runs at 333 or lower?>
is it my sucky motherboard?

Could be memory, try setting it to a divider, maybe listed as ddr speeds ie 400, 333 etc or 6:5 4:3 or similar. You couls also try looseing the timings to 3-4-4-8.
It could also be the HT bus as its over 1000mhz which can cause instability drop the multi from 5 to 4.

I don't know much about overclocking Socket A but the same basic principles apply ie you increase the FSB which speeds up the whole system then when it gets unstable you look at why, maybe increase the cpu / ram voltage a notch or loosen ram timings etc, make sure you keep an eye on the temps though. Before you do any overclocking find the bios / cmos reset jumper. No idea why your ddr400 runs at ddr333 though, sorry, have you checked it is in the correct slot on the motherboard?
yea its in correct slot! think its just an old motherboard tho
how do i increase FSB?
sorry im nub lol :P
Go into the bios and poke around there should be an option in there to alter it failing that download CLOCKGEN and play with that via windows (linky in first post of this thread) then if it all goes horribly wrong switch the pc off and reboot and it will be fine again, just DONOT set it to run on windows startup.
okay thanks mate :D
im gona give that a try when i get home ^_^
hehe 5Ghz here i come

Mighty...
My most recnet clock breaking the half a Ghz barrier... 2.2Ghz Default to over 2.7Ghz...
Still wont be ahppy until I make 2.8Ghz Stable...

zoiks. Will have to get to work on my 4800 to see what we can get...
I'd be very surprised if you hit 2.8GHz on that and you're on air. Virtually all i've seen top out at 2.7GHz.
I cant take any credit for this at all, cos its not me!! This is a guy on the forum I mod on. Conroe X6800 running at 4.01Ghz. Some impressive scores!

Its all there, and also a link to the cpu-z page. But I dont want to post it myself, as its not my score/setup and dont want to claim any credit for it! hehe! :)
OOPS didnt see that :D hehe thanks
Thought I'd make my first post a fun one so here ya go.

Got my new Conroe rig now so this chip has joined my pile of old CPU's. Having a few issues with the Asus P5W-DH but once I sort those, another big clock will be coming.
Boardy
ok a little bit better than last result but not much :(
