Tell us more, what type ? how much ?

I'd love to get one but don't know where to start or how much something decent would cost. I want which will let me see Jupiter

i meant align the telescope to the stars using time date and gps co-ordinates

in order to make use of the computerized database of over 40000 celestial objects

Yeah I got that, it was a subtle dig at the lack of pictures in this thread ;)

Would be quite tempted to get a telescope myself, but having lived for the last 15 years in the suburbs of large cities (London, and more recently Manchester) I'm not sure I have the clear skies needed. Failing that, I'm genuinely interested to see pictures of your new toy; or at least a link to some details if you cba taking pictures :P

Looks like a quality geek toy :). Presumably you can record images onto Flash/your PC? Or does it need a digital camera to go with it?
