Ive currently got an AMD Athalon 2400xp, 1gb ram, 80gb hd, ATI Radeon 9700 pro grahpics cars, Windows XP. Im looking for something faster as my pc is starting to show its age. I mainly surf the net but id like a reasonable graphics card.

I was thinking of this pc and maybe adding an ATI Radeon X1650pro grahpics card, Windows Vista, extra 2gb memory.

What upgrades do you reccommend?

Whats the Celeron D Processor like?

Slow! you would be better off with an Intel E2x00 chip or if you realy cannot stretch that fire an E1x00 chip, they are far faster than the old celerons.

If I were you I would soldier on and save for a little longer and replace your current system.

That systems cheap and cheerful, thats the idea.

Intel Celeron D336 2.8GHz Updrade to a core 2 duo
1GB PC2-5300 Memory Add another gig minimum
80GB Serial ATA Hard Drive This'll do for the system disk, get another for your stuff
52x CD-ROM As long as you don't watch DVDs on it, or play brand new games, it'll do
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (SMA) This isn't a "reasonable graphics card"
Midi Tower Chassis with 420W PSU By the time you upgrade everything else, you'll need a new PSU.To be honest, unless you want a bog-standard system (in which case the value 2800 is fine) you'll probably end up upgrading virtually every component. You'll be paying £120 for a case, 80gig hard drive and 1gig of ram. You won't use most of the components you're buying.
