Q) Which way should my fans be facing?
A) The general view of fan set up is to have fans on the front and side pulling air in, and fans on the back and top taking the air out.
Q) Which way will my fan turn, and which way will the air go?
A) There is usually arrows on the fan casing showing which way the fan spins and which way the air will flow.
Q) How do I mount the motherboard in my case?
A) This all depends on your case. In general you will find a number of holes on the motherboard mounting plate. To find out which holes to use just place your motherboard in the case so that the ports at the back (usb/sound/video etc) are in the large rectangular cut out. Look though the holes on the motherboard, this will show you where you need to put the metal stand offs, which should be in the bag of screws that you got with your case.
Take your motherboard out of the case and place carefully to one side, preferably in an anti-static bag, or the box it came in. Find the metal stand offs and screw them into the holes where your motherboard lined up to.
When you are ready to install your motherboard (after installing memory, CPU, and heat sink) put the metal backing plate into the cut out on the case. Carefully lower the motherboard into the case ensuring that the holes line up correctly again. Once this is done put washers on to the holes on the motherboard then screw in the motherboard.
If there are any raised holes that do not line up anywhere on the board, make sure these are insulated from the motherboard with any non-metallic standoffs, again these should be in the bag of bits.
