Paying for performance to be fair, got that in spades :)

25nm flash is extremely new and will be expensive for a little bit... I'm sure prices will eventually come down. C300 128GB looks like a steal atm though!

For performance that nothing can match at the moment, the price is about right. £200 is a lot for 120GB of space, but people seem to forget these are not about space and storage unlike a mechanical HDD. If you want fast access times, boot times etc etc, then you'll have to pay a premium.

I think people expect too much from SSDs. The amount of people screaming out.. "i'm waiting till £1/p GB before i buy an SSD" drive me insaine! You'll be waiting a long long time, and chances are those SSDs that could do that will be the really poor ones (or very old stock 2-3 year SSDs) compared to the other current SSDs on the market around that time.

64-128GB is all you need for your OS, a few apps and the odd game or two maybe. Keep your £/p GB logic in mind with mechanical HDDs for all your other data and less used apps.

Tbh the biggest space I would go for an SSD is 64-90, as you said use it as a boot drive etc is all I'm doing then put some F3's in as storage £40 for a 1tb roughly, ultra quick Windows on the SSD then lots of storage on 1/2 F3's.

No entry level ones(so to speak) around half the size half the price?

Nice speeds and all but you can only load up apps so fast! :P

wasn't there an article about the OCZ SSDs where mushkin responded saying they'll play it safe or something? or was it corsair?

Yeah, I saw that...I mean't at the new speeds! :p

If they haven't released one yet sure they will soon, can understand them starting with the larger more expensive drive then a month or three down the line bring out a 60/90Gb version.

I'm no to fussed I can wait awhile longer, I'm still deciding what case I want for my new build!

Those read/write speeds are awesome, If the 120gb was half the price i would buy it :D

Would also need a SATA 6GBps controller for that :(

If it was £200 it would be a deal.
The issue is the other 128GB are around £150 now, and that's a cracking price. Hard to justify the difference.
Another issue for me is the 25nm stuff that was already released seemed to have some quirks, so i just don't know.

I guess I should be able to get a used 128GB for around the £100+pp now, so might go that route.

Did you receive any 120GB drives?

Have seen OCZ are having problems getting these out.

120GB is showing a Restock Date 14/04/2011 :(

Can't decide between Vertex 3 120gb and Intel 510 129gb.

Not sure - I have ordered one myself yesterday so I suspect the stock will have to be allocated once the guys open the shop and look at the order. It will probably come down to whose order made it to the system first...

That would be nice-having a smaller capacity for the OS. 120GB and more it`s too expensive now...

Very nice price compared to others though.

Very good performance, but too pricey for 120GB. May be when it drops to around £180, or I'll buy 240GB model when the I got a lottery win ..:)

anyway, my motherboard does not support SATA3. So I can only make use of the SSD speed after I upgraded.
