Recently bought a lot of new components through Aria, very impressed with the service. What I'd love is an 850W Modular power supply on the cheap. The XFX Black Edition would be lovely :D

If a 64GB SSD comes up at a reasonable price I think I may just have to add that onto my spec list. I knew waiting until the end of the month would pay off for ordering a PC. Just got to pay those pesky delivery charges. Why couldn't these deals come up tomo when free delivery is available being a new month :(

It is actually from RawZ using the forum's e-mail manager, it's just last week Aria's phone lines were damaged so one of the admins on here, DoubleTop, reconfigured the forums so he could handle all forum queries. It hasn't been changed back to the forums@aria.co.uk address yet (though the current setup has some advantages :lol:)

Hi Guys,
Quick techie question... As most of you are after the crucial 300 HDD i was wondering why this is so special?
I had 2x Patriot SSD's when they first came out and they were shocking! After much research it appeared the only good SSD manufacturer was Intel with the X40. I do want to jump back into the SSD market but only want something that is going to improve the RAID 0 Raptor drives i currently have. Also is there a way to overcome the TRIM issues running RAID 0?

Afaik most SSDs use TRIM in the PC OS, so using a raid controller will bypass trim. You will need to use an SSD which has robustness built into the hardware.

Unless you are buying in bulk, and making a huge saving on each item, it isn't often worth shopping here - not a bargain if you have a £15 surcharge automatically imposed? especially galling when you get charged for next day delivery and it takes 4 days to reach you. It's a really good shop with huge selection and great prices but, like ebuyer, shipping costs to highlands and islands are prohibitive.

Mauled it with a ton of crap nd junk il never use :lol:
Iv started installing the less important programs on my F3 :).
New install will just b windows boot, browsers, maybe office nd some games :)

Ye, iv learnt the hard way that's its best to keep the c: drive as clean as possible, even with an ssd :)!
Well I will keep the SSD clean. Will load all other apps on the WD Black 1 Tb. The 250gb from my old machine is just storeage.

ah i see, well i've got a 60 GB mushkin on it's way for the old mans machine, problem is he wants to stay on XP so i could be having some fun with that, but, once i move back to my machine, his wont get half the use, in fact it will get very little so should be ok
