169.xx.xx IP Address

Hi guys, I am getting a 169.x.x.x.x IP address when i do Ipconfig

Any quick ideas to resolve it asap.

Done already
Powercycled the router
Ipconfig release / renew
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Reinstalled NIC,

Still getting 169.xx.xxx

Still nothing... the other computer on the network works fine and both are working on static IPS 192.168.1.64 and 65 , tried dynamic , only one connects online,

DHCP server is automatic - started
DNS Server - started


any ideas .......


I have applied a winsock fix tool. but after restartstill 169.xx.xx.xx


Any help appriciated...

Does it work with a static ip?

I have deleted winsock1 and winsock 2 from regedit , and replaced them with a default one, problem sorted.. thank you anyway
