Why is DDR2 1100 (PC8800) ram so cheap compared to DDR2 1000 (PC8000) ram???

Does anyone know?

Some manufacturer may have had a high yield of it and this has created a large supply?

because when i got mine 8000 was as fast as i could afford and now i could get faster for less :(

and i bet it would clock higher than these sticks i have got :(
