Upgrades to systems

So I have a budget of 1100, 1200 at a stretch and i'm currently looking at the dominator system and the brand new Asunder system to fit that bill. I'm just wondering if it's worth my money to upgrade either system to the 570 from the 560Ti or would it be better to save my money and pick up another to run in SLI down the road. I still have some time because I won't be buying till probably August but just wondering what sort of modifications people might suggest with that sort of budget to the excellent systems already up!

To be honest with the speed that computer technology is moving on at the moment, i wouldn't be so sure something wouldn't have taken the dominator's place by august.

However, as current, i would suggest upgrading to the 570. Having said that, the 560ti should do everything you'll realistically ever need a graphics card to do anyway.

As Cosford says, there'll almost certainly be some new/refreshed kit out by August, so I wouldn't worry about dreaming up a spec now - it will almost certainly have superceded kit by then :lol: With that kind of budget you'll probably be looking at an LGA2011-based system :)

:drool: Skt 2011. 8 cores/16 threads of goodiness. Thats where the money needs to be spent.

Of course if wanted to wait, then Ivy is out @ end 2011/early 2012 which should bring 8cores/16threads but on a lovely 22nm process.

But then you could wait for Haswell the following year which should be even better.

Heh, I get I'm probably looking at this a little early, but it's so much fun to see just what's possible! Also because I'm so busy with studies i don't get to keep up with the new tech as it's announced so I have literally no idea what may happen and what bits of tech may suddenly drop into my price range. I'm still waiting for the first quantum computer to hit production!

If you want an upgrade on the Dominator/Askunwtfder could always Buy (http://www.aria.co.uk/Systems/Gaming+Range/Gladiator/Relentless+GTK+Gaming+PC+%28Sandy+Bridge+REV+B3%29 +?productId=43844) this and add a SSD and OP(if needed)...
