Recently ran xubuntu 8 from a 4gb usb drive, was ok, exited it, to go back to windows, and now i get the option to boot into xubuntu or xp on boot, with a countdown.
How do i remove xubuntu from there?

Not really, as it was never installed
Was ran as a live cd

yeah but it sounds like it has over written the master boot record, FixMBR will fix it
I told him to do that, aparently he did it but it didnt work. =/

well may be worth a boot of a win98 disk (after backing up your important data) and doing an fdisk/mbr

It placed a program in the add/remove list, i got rid of it and it took the entry from the boot.ini with it, sorted now!
Thanks for the help guys.

For it to be a real "live cd" I would advise booting directly to the CD rather than using the install via windows.

Is that something new for v8 I don't remember seeing the option in V7?

I did Monkey.
Wonder, i installed it using windows to the usb drive, then restarted, it gave me the option to install, install in safe mode, run as live cd or quit.
This was xubuntu 8
