Me being an underage PC man with parents funding the cost of a PC, after an unfortunate accident with my old PC for which I was not to blame (faulty PSU, imagine the carnage) I turned to Aria to build my new system, a relatively good idea with some downsides.
I ordered a relatively high spec design and took the word \"custom\" to heart, checking if everything was possible by phone before I asked for it. However, the PC I got was not exactly what I ordered. It was close enough to not be worth returning, but it annoyed me all the same.

I'll briefly sum up what I asked for and say what I got. Does anyone know why Aria would build a system and not contact me (no email, no phone, nothing) to say why they wouldn't do what I asked?

X2 4200: got X2 4200, good start!
Zalman CNPS7000 Alcu: got Zalman CNPS7000 Alcu
Arctic silver: well, I'm not about to go finding out!
A8N-SLi SE: A8N-SLi SE
37GB Raptor, 250GB Barracuda, Sapphire X1900XT, Audigy 4SE, NZXT Lexa: All correct, I'm glad to say, hence why the PC didn't go back.
LG DVD-ROM and NEC ND-4570: all OK. However, here's where my little nag begins.
Akasa LED chipset cooler: nope, still the stock one. Not only is it still the stock one, but the fan doesn't spin round! What the deuce? Surely that isn't a good idea?
Aerocool 2 panel: I got what I asked for, but it didn't occur to anyone to check that the memory card reader worked. It doesn't, not internally anyway. Fortunately it works externally so I use it like that. It also didn't fit properly so opening the flap is a challenge.
Hiper 580W Black UV PSU, Akasa UV S-ATA cables, Hiper 80mm UV fan and UV cold cathode: Well, I got a 580W Hiper PSU, but they fobbed me off with the plain black one, the cable braiding is definitely NOT UV reactive. That's a cheaper unit, so shame on you Aria! The S-ATA cables were OK (although they give mediocre performance light-wise, that's not Aria's fault), the 80mm UV fan isn't, it's an LED, which is what the picture shows on the site (the images for the LED and UV were switched round) however, despite querying this first and being assured the text would be right, it wasn't. I got the LED one. Not only that but I asked this fan to be put at the bottom of the case, and the top fan left as it is. (slots are available to do this with the Lexa). However, the Red fan is at the top, and the top fan was removed and shoved in the box of cables, un-necessarily.

To be fair, this system is very good, and most of it works, but it's just annoying that these little extras I asked for just weren't done, without any notification. I'm also owed £2.50 for the heatsink fan that never was, but come on, asking for that back is being a cheapskate.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Aria to people wanting a system built, but not for custom builders like me (yeah I know, I should build it myself, but I explained my circumstances earlier). Oh, and check your chipset fan works!

If it's not worth ranting over £2.50 then why this post?

Also, the forums aren't for customer service issues (just read the rules like the rest of us did...)

Once Aria really put my back up, but I sorted it direct with their sales team which is exactly what you ought to be doing - hardly fair to start complaining if you ain't let the right people know you're not 100% chuffed, eh?

I would have returned the incorrect components and got what I actually asked for. You should do the same.

As for things like fans in the wrong place, I really don't see why you couldn't just swap them round yourself.

Sure, thanks for replying, and sorry for my absence. For what it's worth I will go and change things myself, it just annoys me a bit that I didn't get what I asked for. The lack of a chipset fan basically means no overclocking which is a bit of a downer, but to be quite honest, an nForce 4 with no fan, I'm amazed it works at all.
