Oooooh :) Got some great weather for that right now!
Wow - best car pic ever posted on this forum...Love it!
Now that's a reason for pleasure driving :)
A slightly unflattering shot of the dashboard with one of the footboards up!
The car looks a bit grubby because I use it more often than I clean it :)

A shot of the engine. You don't really get any sense of scale from this. It's huge. Look at the size of the steering wheel in the previous picture, then at its size in this picture.

Awesome. I love old engineering like that!
Looks easy to work on too!

Simply awesome.
Fantastic, thanks for sharing.
Easy to work on yes, which is good because there is always something that needs doing!
Whereas my project car really does need a lot doing to it. Another Sunbeam from 1926. This one is a 1926 Sunbeam Three Litre Twincam Super Sports. The first Sunbeam will be sold to pay for the restoration of this one. It's almost all there apart from the chassis (a new one has just been made and delivered) and the body. Dismantled in 1960 when the chassis and body had rotted away and kept for spares, but never used!
Boxes and boxes of bits. It scares me, but start at the beginning......and eventually.....

The crank is cracked.
To cheer myself up I've bought...
http://www.theessenceofthecar.co.uk/ select classic cars and look at the Sunbeam 3 litre on page three.
That's blown my SSD fund.
And a picture of a real one to remind myself it will all be worthwhile...

Now that is stunning... :thumb:
After two years of messing about collecting bits IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING. I'm not excited at all really. :D:D:D:weeee
Here's a photo of the twincam axle being put back together, just waiting for bearings to go in, and the kingpins to be ground.
My 25hp is looking on, waiting for the sump to go back on after repairs - no more oil puddles. Well, smaller ones anyway!

That cam shaft's almost a work of art in itself :p
Oh my, a thing of beauty.
That cam shaft's almost a work of art in itself :p
I'm thinking of turning it into a standard lamp - it's over 4 foot tall - because it's cracked. I suggested that to my wife, but she wasn't convinced. I was going to buy another damaged one and weld them together. She didn't like the idea of turning an old engine block and a sheet of glass into a coffee table either.
She's crushing my creativity !!
My restoration Blog is at: http://vintagesunbeams.blogspot.com/
I'm not going to update this thread all that regularly, but when I'm on buying bits of computer, I might!
