Just thought I would post some pics of my rig in my new Fractal Define R2 that I bought from beep for 20 squid. My only other new stuff are Sythe Mugen 2 cooler bought from Joey Propane last month and an extra 500 GB Sammy F1 hard drive.

I actually attempted some cable management for 1st time as the Fractal is well designed for this, after a good few attempts I am now happy-ish. Cooler was very awkward to fit as it is so big and had to try screw it on to the backplate, lets just say I eventually managed it after smearing my carpet with cpu paste :surprised:.

The good news is everything is working great, its a lot quiter than my old case and temps are a good 10 degrees lower 28 idle from 38 idle :). Thats despite the fact Im not making use of the two fans in the top of the case as I had nowhere left on the MB to connect them.

Still, got 2 on front, 1 on back and one on my Mugen II doing the business but still room for improvement. Im getting a nice Fan gaurd made for the top at work in the next little while as the fans are exposed at the moment.

Looks great tommeeeeee, better than when I had it :)

Try powering the top fans with molex, either that or the fan controller, not a clue how that works though, never used it.

I'll get cracking with the custom fan guard next week if I get 5 mins spare lol.

Very tidy job mate, glad you are happy with it.

No bad deal, a fractal & 500gb HDD for £30.......gives me a a headache thinking about that one lol ;)

Welcome to the FD Club! Awesome case! Especially at that price.

Must admit though I am jumping ship to Corsair :D

Fractal are great for the price point but you can't beat a good corsair case (though they are a touch on the pricey side).

Nice, not too keep on the removed fan guards though.

I could beat a Corsair.. I want a Lian Li again next.

Fan guards were removed for a radiator.

We are making a custom one to fill the gap.

Nice :)

Humour me for a second. It looks like you are sucking air through that HSF, or blowing air forwards into the case. Is this deliberate?
Also, it looks like your RAM is not in dual channel mode. Normally they go in alternate slots on the motherboard.
I'm not picking holes, I'm offering suggestions that might improve your rig.

cruciate you have a point there although the Dual channel slots are usually colourcoded and the other two sockets are the same colour. i do have ltd building knowledge so may be wrong :(

Im planning on adding a second fan to the HSF very soon although it is shifting air nicely just now. no probs re the memory modules, every motherboard has its differances it seems :thumb:
