Hello
I've just purchased a Stalker HDK system from Aria after reading all the positive things people say about their build quality and aftersales etc. Unfortunately I seem to have hit a bit of a problem.
I booted the machine up for the first time last night. It came pre-loaded with Windows 7 64 at my request but other than that no modifications from the standard build were made. After an hour or so of downloading Windows updates, Google Chrome etc the monitor (Dell U2311H - beautiful!) suddenly went black and the fans inside the computer (which had previously been silent, I was very impressed by the noise levels) started whirring away at high power. The monitor apparently went into sleep mode and suggested it had lost connection with the GFX. The only way to exit this was to do a complete re-boot.
This temporarily resolved the problem but I continued to face the same issue around 5 more times within the space of an hour. I have tried downloading updated Catalyst drivers which doesn’t seem to have made any difference. I’m not a complete noob when it comes to these sorts of things as I used to tinker with building PC’s back in the day but in all honesty havent a clue what the issue could be. Does this sound like an issue specifically with the Radeon HD card or could it be an overclock stability issue? I’m happy to try anything that doesn’t require much skill and wont invalidate my warranty in an effort to not have to send this beautiful machine back to Aria!
Any suggestions very much welcome. At work currently but will try all potential solutions tonight.
