Great deals, perhaps one with 8gb of RAM in it would have been good too especially as that's the way more and more people are going.

Based on two other big retailers doing OC SB bundles, you'll need to spend around £100 more to match this spec, so it's a real bargain! :thumb:

Water block you mean by an All-in-One cooler like a H60, or an actual CPU waterblock?

but most reviews i have read about MSI boards have been abysmal,

whats your take on them? and are the newer boards alot more reliable? heard alot about caps going pop left right and centre.

also could you build it for the same price with say a different simular spec mobo? or is that the best mobo for that sort of bundle price/performance wise?

Sales head off..

My POV on MSI P67 boards it that they are the best bang for buck boards on the market. MSI knows this as they have cut margins their end to offer features you'd expect to see £20-40 more on other boards.

I have a Sandy Bridge setup myself. My 24/7 one is MSI. As an overclocker, i've played with 90% of all P67 boards on the current market and i find the best ones are MSI. I've not had an issue with any so far and are really great to clock to high speeds for benching without any hassle.

I really don't get why the reviews i've seen haven't been so liked as much as ASUS or GBT tbh. I find that MSI > ASUS > GBT > ASRock, regarding P67.

The bundle your referring to has the best bang for buck P67 board on the market. You won't find the same performance and features from any other board.. even a cheap ASRock.

i'll be open & up front with you, I work for MSI. I joined them about six months ago after five years in the industry with a couple of major reselllers including Aria.

As i'm sure Rawz will confirm i'm an Overclocking enthusiast and I was the main reason why Aria started doing OC bundles & systems.

18 months ago I wouldn't have bought an MSI motherboard, I'd been selling them for years without any major issues but they were never enthusiast focused, they didn't have overclocking ability that I demanded and they were lacking in enthusiast level features.

In the last year MSI have not only caught up with the other two big players but have passed them. The Military Class II standard is not just a marketing gimmick, the lab that test for the US military tested a couple of our P67A boards and certified them. See Here (http://in.msi.com/News/Military%20Class%20II%20Standard%20for%20Ultimate% 20Quality%20and%20Stability%20Professional%20USDOD %20-%20Accredited%20Laboratory%20Certifies%20Military% 20Class%20Components-Certificate.jpg)

Unlike a certain "TUF" branding that a competitor uses, which they claim Military Certification on because one single capacitor type that they use passes these tests, our entire boards were tested.

Look at the HWBOT statistics if you wish, you'll find our GD65 going neck & neck (winning in fact) with the much more expensive UD7 and Maximus IV Extreme boards in average overclockability.

Our reviews lately have been good, only being marked down based on price and only then because the reviewers got much lower spec boards from our competitors. Read the CPC/Bit Tech reviews, our board is faster, better laid out and more feature packed than our competitors.

Listen, I'll level with you, MSI's only weakness on P67 is a slightly childish looking BIOS interface. I'm afraid that it's oriental market focussed thanks to the lack of westerners in the R&D team. But get past the way it looks and you'll find a decent BIOS with all the OC features you'd need. Stabilty and reliability are already next to none. MSI have come on leaps and bounds since P55 was launched.

I would have gone MSI but for the deal on my ASUS. Never had any issues with them as standard boards and they have done some great deals like the GD65 cashback. Reviews don't seem to like the layout and style of the BIOS, but I have not heard much else negative about their P67 range.

Im really interested in the £350 bundle, as its only £10 more then what Ive spec'd up but its the same parts with the OC done for me.

1. How many of these are available? As it will be another week before Im paid.
2. What is the lead time between ordering -> Building -> Shipping?
3. Would I also be able to PM you RawZ about a few other components to check they will work with an OC bundle?

Cheers

What is the big difference for the extra £30. I can see that its a higher mobo, difference CPU cooler and an extra 0.1GHz

What I can't see is the differences between the mobo's. Given the little summery of them they appear to have the same ports on both boards.

If I sell my laptop later I could spend the extra £30 if there is merit to, if not it will just be the £350 deal

Yes I did. Oh well, it's done now.

Nervous wait now to see if my GTS250 will fit and not foul the SATA ports on the edge of the mobo. :ninja:

I really hope I don't end up with an excuse to upgrade that too lol :weeee
