hmm quite a bit worse than a 460/6850.
I really wish they would stop making new GPU's. MY 460 seems oooolllllddd now

I hear you on that one! The good thing is though the FPS seems to be quite a bit under our trusty 460's! :thumb:
Some stock arrived :woot:

Burn it.
use a marker to give it the correct prefix: GTS

460 is better for crysis by 10 frames and the same price, if not cheaper.

another pointless gpu!
sits inbetween a 5770 and a gtx460 768 vers and is more expensive than both of them<<!
so it goes 550, 5770, 460?

nah more like 5770, 550, 460.
Seems to trade blows with the 5770, wins on some games, loses on others. Overall deeply underwhelming though, given the price.
Maybe when prices drop a bit and the GTX460 goes EOL it'll have a niche.
Needs to be about £90 - 100.
When does the 460 go EOL?
When stock runs out i imagine.

Yeah there's never really a set date, it's just when our tireless purchasers are unable to get hold of them any more.

would be great if aria could get hold of a mass batch and flog them on the cheap.
despite all the numbers and naming confusion there isnt really a great difference between most of the mid to high end graphics
They will come down to a price to match the performance via market pressure to an extent after release. Seem to remember that the 450 was met with a similar Meh! on release too, must have carved out some sales for Nvidia to do the same strategy this time round?
I would get a 460 instead! :p
Does seem abit odd the way the release them, you would think they'd prefer to keep ramping up them up than down.
i prefer 560
Not quite in the same "range" now is it :p

Not always true, as not everyone goes for bleeding edge stuff
or don't see them 'cos the site is down :(
Not too sure about these cards. Looked at afew reviews and they seem to consume a hell of alot more than they should. For me, the GTX560 is the lowest i'd go on nVidia side for this generation.

Agreed, even a 5770 beats it most of the time; if not it does on heat and power consumption. GTX460 is still a better buy though at that price point on the green team.
glad i stuck with the gtx460 then :-P
Think the main problem now is, as I was recently shown, you can get the vastly superior 460 for almost the exact same price
I really wish they would stop making new GPU's. MY 460 seems oooolllllddd now
I feel you on that one..my 5870 plays anything on MAX yet with all these new GPUs it feels outdated ......
I feel jealous

what does the Ti stand for?
It's for Titanium (Chemical symbol Ti)
On the 550 though, I think it's just to get people to think of the 560Ti and go "Hey, 560 is awesome, 550 must be as well"

I just bought one in the one day sale. Main reason for my purchase was my PC currently has a 400 watt PSU and I dont want to fork out for a new PSU just to power a new GFX card. I'm not a big gamer, in fact this week was the first time I've used my 3 year old pc to play games at all, so this card should be ok for my occasional gaming requirements.
