I've still yet to need more than 4 ports. :)

There is a link in the above article of how to use an old router instead of a switch for adding extra ports aswell.

Got 6 cables connected to my Gigabit switch, 4 for my PCs, one to the router and one spare for "customers" PCs

If you put a cable from the router to the switch and then from the switch to the router would the internet blow up?

How long are you finding the patch cable is lasting that you pull out of "customers" PCs before you have to replace it. ?

That's clearly wrong, to get faster download speeds you have to have your Ethernet lead going down vertically to your computer, gravity pulls the 1's and 0's down faster :D. :weeee

On the contrary - just download the 1's instead so you have 'lossless' programs which use up less space/take less time to download :D

Yeah but all those 1's make my hard drives heavier and so they spin slower :( :p
