Another vote for the StealthXstream but if you've got a bit more money to spend, I'd opt for something with slightly better +12V rails and with more cables to play with. I'd advise-

Tagan BZ 600W
Corsair HX 620W
Seasonic S12/M12 600W

They're all quite overkill but the above three aren't quite as limited on the cable front as the OCZ.

Yeah i know im taking my time with this build dammit!
Im poor at the minute... well not poor but im working for my money still.
It slookin like it gonna be a few months before im able to afford it.
Unless i buy a bit now, a bit later. But i thats a stupid idea.

Well i was looking at the Xilence 800w Gaming Edition PSU (https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Power+Supplies/500w+%2B/Xilence+800w+Gaming+Edition+PSU+?productId=26716)b ut ive heard its a bit weak. And expensive, although it is 200w more than the OCZ

mate get the 600 stealth seriously, dont bother with cheap brand high power nasties.

Also if your buying in a couple of months, your better asking us all in a couple of months about spec, as prices and tech will have moved along!

Ha ha.. yeah good thinking, i may have changed some specs by then too.

I did have doubts about the xilence, and for saying its a cheap make it aint that cheap. Seeing as its twice as much as the OCZ Stealth.

I was just wondering if you knew how to tell if prices have changed on aria?

It might be priced quite highly but it may not stand up quite as well against comparable units from Tagan, Enermax, OCZ, Seasonic, Corsair and so on.

I also agree that if you aren't buying for a few more months, prices will change quite a lot by then. Don't waste too much time.

On another note, I'd be tempted to opt for the OCZ ModXstream 780W on specials for just £66. It is overkill to the max but with about 48A worth of +12V rails (4 x 20A), the price and the fact that it's modular pretty much seals the deal :D

It's 80PLUS certified too unlike the stealthXstreams.

I like the stealthXstreams and they're great if you want a reliable unit on the budget. But if you have a bit more cash to throw around you may as well opt for something that's a bit more robust and has more cables should you want to add more HDD's, Optical drives and so on.

Whats the difference between modular and non modular and i thought modular wasnt as good

Modular just means that you can remove excess cables, there are two schools of thought here:

1, better as you dont have extra cables reducing airflow.

2, the extra connections this makes increases resistance, increasing fire risk and reduing efficiency.

So there better but more dangerous.
I like the sound of that. Ill buy 2

no the none modular are more dangerous :)

The extra connection thing is a very personal thing that some people do consider a problem, but my pc is under warranty, so if the psu blows it, i know where to get my money for a new system, so im not worried.

is he not saying modular are safer due to less connections hanging about?

Lynx

Actually i am pointing out both sides, personally i would pay a bit more for a modular (in a time when i have money) over a normal one.

My apologies, I misread what you said Lynx.

Having used a couple of Modular Psu (Hiper Type Rs) I don't think that I would ever go back to a normal psu.

So much easier to get a tidy build, which is always better for airflow

Alright people youve said enough... Modular is better... Now shut it fools!

the best have both, hardwired 12v and 5v for the mobo/pcie and modular for the molex/sata.
