Newby wants to know if theres supposed to be something underneath the motherboard where the screws go to lift it up a bit, or is it supposed to be just screwed down just like that
no simply the gold standoff screws support the board. DONT fill every screw hole with gold standoffs as many noobies do as it will short the board. Only put gold standoffs where they line up with actual motherboard hole.
little brass stand offs, they should come with the case.

they are just normal steel looking.. not gold or bras.. ive put them in 6 places where the motherboard has holes for them, but i am actually mssing 2 more. is this a problem?

did you only get six with the case?
If you would care to take a picture of the case and the connectors I have amassed a fair collection and could send you some more is you need them
If I have the style you need
As long as the board does not move once screwed in, that is not a problem in my opinion, considering its a intel board, i would recomend installing the heatsink before screwing down for ease of mind, they require a fair bit of pressure.

ah yes lol no one tole me that before i started.
right basically what ive so far done is put heat sink intel on... was the little chip that goes underneith supposed to be so tightly down?
ive put the memory sticks in and the mother board into the case.
yes the chip once youve pressed down the cover and leaver, it will be tight. as for the heatsink, with some pressure it goes on nicely. Thats good to get it all on before hand.

This is what i have done so far. Messy ay?
My old case was worse, my new one has enough space for a matx board in the top and a second psu etc, theres so much space.

I think ill leave it with the missing screws. Im not that fussed just as long as the computer wont explode into a firey volcano... Or atleast short out

This is the front of it.. looks like a jet
i would move 1 of those from the bottom of the board and put it in the stand off just above the pcie slot to help withe the weight of your graphics card.

a bit different, no huge fan on the side, one n the back. and no gold screws

I just had a quick read of it. It seems mine was a bit of a later development of that one or something, since the last part talks about the airflow maybe not being as good as it can be as there is no fan at the rear, and my one has one and used as an exaust for the huge one in front. But ye, no gold screws as is on the picture. The case was probably sent back and then resold to me, I would return it if it wasnt for the fact I bought it when I was in lincoln... Oh and the fact I used pliers to bend a part of the case that wasnt in place properly.. thats always a biggy

hmm, looks like you've been short changed.
Can you contact where you got it from?

Thats the thing. I would if I could, have no idea where I got it from over there, I live in london. posting it there would cost a great deal and driving up there by car would waste about 50 pounds petrol. so theres no point trying now.

is it worth the call, assuming you know the number, to get them to send you the missing kit?
Basically as long as the screws cover all four corners of the board and places where you are likely to apply pressure, so all four corners, pci-express and one near the CPU.
I got some little plastic standoffs with my case I snipped the bottom off them and they fit perfect in the motherboard holes to give extra support!
