Hi guys i have Ubuntu on my laptop, it replaced Win XP pro. It version 10.04 since a recent update wen the machine is powered on it goes straight into standby? Any ideas on why its now doing this? is there an easy way to upgrade to the ltest 10.10?

Boot it into the recovery mode, should give you the option when the grub menu comes up.

From their go to fix broken packages and reboot.
