Hi Guys,

We've been very hush hush about this for quite some time now, but I feel we should mention this as it is rather huge and something you all should know about us.

Many (if not all) of you won't know but for over 3 years now, we (Gladiator Computers) have been building very high end systems for Crytek UK (http://www.crytek.com/) for the development of the latest & awesome Crysis 2, the previous Crysis games, and the devlopments of the CryEngine over the years.

We may not be as big as our rivals when it comes to systems (although we're very well on our way), but we offer a great service with fantastic systems & prices.

I hope you all find this information somewhat reassuring as when it comes to high end systems, we provide some of the best in the business :thumb:

As RawZ said; We may not be as big as our rivals when it comes to systems but we'll beat them in price, quality, service and after-care support. I'm sure some of you have noticed this being forum members. Whether it's been problems with couriers or anything else we sort them out promptly. As our customers should and always will come first :thumb:.

Haha, I liked it when I saw the option for 3D I was like "yes, it's made for 3D" then when I tried it I realised it had no support for nVidia's 3D, it was made for console's 3D...

Good to see nVidia's piles of cash have gone to good use :P.

I dunno mate tbh.

I can't remember the total amount of systems excatly, but we've probably built close to 100 high spec PCs for them over the past 3 years, and of all those systems not one has ever featured an Nvidia graphics card lol.

Quite confusing really as its not like they favour AMD/ATI or anything as all those systems have been all Intel based and also Nvida recently signing an exclusive deal for this Crysis 2 benchmark and rights to use their assets to promote their latest GTX 550Ti coming out this month.

I was under the impression the reason they didn't want overclock was because the mainstream gamer will probably not have an overclocked system.

Seen this Gladiator Computers about and keep meaning to ask the question. Were Gladiator Computers once a separate company that Aria bought in the last few years?

Reason I ask is that I used to use Gladiator Computers a while back and always in my head that I had excellent service, same Gladiator Computers?

is that for crytek uk? and have they given the go ahead for this kinda information to be discussed?

nearly 100 'high spec' PCs?

for the uk office in nottingham?

from my understanding that was opened in 2008/9 and had only 7 employees that primarily focus on conceptual art and 3D design. so that number baffles me. (edit current no of emplyees is 80 LOL and they have a vacancy (http://crytek.com/career/offers/overview/nottingham)) :D

though if they were all different specc'd tehn that would make sense as they would want to test cryengine 3 on a variety of different platforms and while intel/nvidia get hype, the ethos of the cryengine 3 ((im sorry but while the current crysis 2 demo imo is balls) the cryengine 3 (http://crytek.com/cryengine/cryengine3/overview) is close to a masterpiece and the game is not a firetrucking port!!)) is to intelligently make the most out of the hardware at hand. be it a console or PC and for next gen platforms to come (or so it is promised). Though i hope they bear in mind what i told them a fair while ago.

I was under the impression the reason they didn't want overclock was because the mainstream gamer will probably not have an overclocked system.

overclocking uses more cpu power than whats needed, imagine the cost of 80 PCs each drawing 600w? most of the work in nottingham as i said is conceptual art/3D design and animation.. this is all gpu power and pencil pwoer.

i know i would try my best to get free hardware into the deal if they wanted their name on my game (if i was crytek) but then again maybe crytek uk are looking for/work on ati only bugs/issues while their other houses work on nv only issues.

as above. depending on their selected software they have no need for high pwoer draw nvidia graphics cards and many 3D softwares including 3DSmax and Maya run better on ATI AMD cards, at least from my experience.

ahh anything else?

anyway good call for galdiatwor systems and personally im looking forward to playing with the cryengine 3 and looking forward to seeing what kinda other games will utilise it!

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if someone could tell me how long this system is going to be available for? I'm currently away from home training/competing and won't be back until July and this system is almost perfect in terms of looks and specs, so i was hoping i could get the same system 4 months from now and hopefully cheaper too ;).

Also i was thinking of swapping out the GTX 570 for the same model GTX 580, is that a worthwhile upgrade and i hear the HX750/850 is fairly loud so i want to avoid that, will an AX850 fit without removing the bottom fan mount?

Final question, Corsair say the H60 works best when the fan is mounted as an input so i was wondering how the fans are setup in the case given that the rear fan is the only exhaust in the stock case?

Thanks in advance for any help :thumb:.

EDIT: One more thing i forgot to ask, i can't remember where i read it now but one of the main reasons i want to buy from Aria was because you include all the accessories, cables etc. that would have come if you bought the system separately, is that still true?

Thanks again.

Not sure how long the exact system will be around for, but in 4 months there will certainly be a similar spec/performance system for you. If nothing else you can phone up and have a chat with our sales team who will put together a custom order for you matching your exact requirements.

It is, I'm not 100% certain that we do this for every order including web orders by default, but we certainly do if you phone up (or email in) and request it for your order.

Before BF3 came out the consensus was that it was developed with AMD cards, only ever shown on AMD cards etc -hell, even AMD's driver install has BF3 in the background.
