Nice deals, being new to the site and never having heard of Mushkin before, are they Arias value brand?
Nope, Mushkin are more popular in America.
Their RAM is cheap and yet possibly the highest quality in the world.

Cool, will keep an eye out for a set then. Catch the next offer. Got some Corsair 4GB 1600 for the build I'm working on, assume another set of 1600 Mushkin wouldnt cause a problem?

Just bought both 12GB packs :) 24GB to be put into my machine :)
Any idea when sandy bridge is going to support triple channel?
I've heard it's going to be in the 3rd quarter of 2011 but I don't know how true that is.
Sold out already! never mind.. theres always next time.

24GB is a crazy amount!
Well there is no Triple Channel on 1155, so you'll likely have to wait until LGA 1356 or even LGA 2011 in Q3. Although I have an idea that 2011 is Quad Channel, which to be honest I'd prefer as it is an even number making using older memory easier.

although in benches the dual channel sandy bandwidth is far superior to triple channel :)
Indeed, although that is less to do with the amount of channels and more to do with the Sandy Bridge architecture. I personally can't wait for LGA 2011, hopefully the performance will be enough for an upgrade from trusty 1366.
Cancelled mine, didn't check the speed.

Is LGA 2011 in Q3 a provisional time period or has it been set for release in Q3?
I'm running a quad core extreme at the moment and I wanted to upgrade, I was thinking of upgrading to a LGA 1155 but now that you say that 2011 may be set for Q3 of 2011 il wait for that.
Well that is the quarter that is always mentioned, but I wouldn't put too much stock into it as we all know how things can get delayed in the computer world *cough* fermi *cough*.
I would expect it will be out this year going on the 2011 name! Which I know is the number of contacts but it would be silly to release it in 2012... *nudge nudge* Intel!

Oh cool *fingers crossed* lol
I really hope so, I can wait I'm just being impatient lol but I know how things can be. One thing I can't understand with the early 1155 boards are they have known sata degrading issues yet they are still being sold :/

I was just warning people that the RAM I purchased was faulty and still to be resolved.

Indeed, hopefully Bulldozer and 2011 provide a better performance increase than the current 1155 SB systems. Otherwise for most of us on high end systems there isn't much point upgrading yet.
As for the SATA issue, I agree in part but the problem won't affect many people using either the 6Gbps ports or the SATA port 0 or 1. From what I understand the returns are being dealt with directly by the manufacturer of your board. That being said as long as the customer is being informed before the purchase I don't see much harm in it.
Frankly I think Intel are doing an excellent job sorting this out, yes it shouldn't of happened in the first place but it is an issue which many people would of never noticed. Instead of sweeping it under the rug so to speak Intel held their hands up and are spending an insane amount of cash to sort it out.

Thats very true actually, they did admit that it was a issue and it was found early too,
Don't you think the performance to cost ratio is better with the sandy bridge model that the original i7's, i was looking at some benchmarks and the i7 2600K was out performing a i7 extreme CPU an the price difference is around £600 (or be it slightly less now)
Just read on wiki that LGA 2011 is due to release in Q4 2011 and will support up to quad channel DDR3, do you think there will be 8 DIMM slots on theboard then doubt they would put 12 slots on a board right. They wouldn't fit lol.

Well 2nd hand you can usually pick up a decent nehalem system for sub £300 (CPU £140-150, Board £80, Memory £70) and the i7 920 D0 will do 4GHz without any fuss. So I think it still has its place if you are on a budget, especially as you get 8 threads and they all do 4GHz+ with the right cooling. Where as SB is usually £450+ new, maybe £400 2nd hand if you are very lucky.
Sure SB bests Nehalem in benchmarks but how much are you going to notice that outside of synthetic tests? Not a huge amount short of folding@home, encoding etc.
I'll be honest, I'd love a SB system as I love upgrading, trying out new kit, tweaking and overclocking it etc but I just can't justify the outlay at the moment. Also with Bulldozer so close it would be a bit silly of me to upgrade only to find it was a mistake.
I expect it will be 8 slots yeah.
Bah!, only just got in from home & gym, never had a chance :)

Yea I think your right, all I'm looking for now really is a motherboard and a CPU, ive very recently bought two 120GB OCZ SSD's and put them in raid 0 and put my OS on it. Runs very nicely indeed, got my 24GB ram coming tomorrow and got a GTX480 already. Can't wait for the LGA 2011 now.
I have the 4 in one machine, and 2 lots of the 8 in my Sandybridge 16Gb. Just a shame the board with the 4 only has two slots :(
Not had any issues with the Muskin branded ram here, in a way pleased I didn't see this straight away
So how do you buy these amazing deals, what a wind-up!!!! when I click on the item it takes me to the normal aria web-site showing higher prices even though I'm log-in as a member
