that looks great, they want you to try and fry their hardware, just a shame its in the states :(

And I don't have access or inclination to use Liquid nitrogen! :D

i think they are providing it but i imagine you need your own pots and insolation??

for those not running extreme cooling, is it worthwile competing?

If tomshardware in the past have a P4 Northwood at over 5.25Ghz what will they get a 45nm core2duo at 6-7Ghz? I know the P4 was designed to acheive higher speeds mind.

i would think it will have prizes for air, water and sub zero cooling.

i saw a p4 640 do 8ghz so.....still not faster than a core2dou above 3.4ghz tho in suprepi so....lol.

i think the 45s are doing around the 5.5/6ghz mark with subzero.

Highest cpu clock is actually a p4 at over 8ghz =)

Think the core2's have gone past 6ghz, but not by much....

I've had an x6800 @ 5.5ghz

Why didnt you run a 1M SuperPI and post
your times then.

5.5Ghz on an x6800 under Liquid Nitrogen seems quite normal (from a quick google search)

Well, i wouldnt say 5.5ghz is normal xD
