Price range? What will be connected? File sharing over the network? What features do you need?

Come on, be a bit more specific :)

lol, will be 2 laptops and 2 desktops and an xbox however one of the laptops is mine so will rarely be on at the same time as my desktop and the other desktop is the parents so it will hardly be on. no filesharing, will be all wireless internet too, up to £50 maybe £60 at a push but would like to keep under 50

Cool. I'd say get the Netgear DG834G. Don't worry too much about version revisions, though the V4 revision is the only one that has the (better, supposedly) broadcom chipset.

V5 is current though, go for that. It's about £45, under your budget :)

should have said it needs to be N, my room is quite a fair bit away from the router so it needs to have a good range and hold a consistent connection

I've had two DG834G's, V1 and now V5 (or maybe 4.. ), and both are excellent quality, really nice to work with. No complaints or issues, lots of good features.

Then I'd say the Netgear DGN2200. About £60 new.
