Hopefully O2 will do the slide out keyboard version so when my contract is up I can upgrade from my XDA Trion (htc tytn 1)

Oh i forgot to say, I dont do touch screen. I had an i-mate jam for a year and couldnt get on with it. I need a phone you can use with one hand and rebust enough to stand up to bangs from the workshop.

I like the look of a new nokia but cant remember the number...But it had an FM transmitter in..Great for the car!

Im getting a Samsung U600 as a free upgrade from T-mobile. It does everything my D900 does but will be new and shiny!

I only ever use my phone for sms, mms, calls, and the odd bit of internet browsery. I dont like carry a brick around, even if it does do everything.

I don't understand how phones aren't getting smaller. In fact many modern phones are as big as the ones we had 5 years ago. It seems like any miniturisation advances we make are undone by cramming more stuff into a phone.

I think mobile phones are a modern day swiss army knife. Does everything you could ever need, but you only use the scissors to cut your nails :P

Well I must admit I use a lot of the features of my phone, but not all of them.

Calendar, contacts, WMP, IE, Live Messenger, Email, Solitare :D, Pocket Excel, are the regular ones that came with the phone,

those that I have added Tomtom6 and Tombraider :D

Do you know of a phone that can open microsoft word documents? My housemate is after something that he can use to read them on the train. Maybe even edit.

yep,

any phone running Windows Mobile. WM6 imho is the best for this (WM6.1 has just come out)

comes with pocket Word built in.

Depends what style he/she is after.

HTC make a whole range of WM phones, these are now sold under their own brand, but they have been selling them for years under other brands, IE Qtec, Imate XDA, MDA etc

For a phone with a slide out keyboard (and much much more) I would suggest a phoen based arount the Tytn2

You may want to check out the HTC range, they do other models that have a normal phone look and also have the slide out keyboard

My dad has a new samsung, Cant remember the name but the menu is too complex. He only uses it for calls so gets on with it....Just.
