i currently have this memory from aria

http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=20235

is it possible to overclock this memory? i have never overclocked memory before, if so can someone guide me on what to do?

thanks :D

i will also be getting a £5 heatsink for this strip so overclocking should be fine if possible :P

Im sure you can overclock that memory, but IMHO there isn't no point.

As you wont get very good results.

how comes?

not even an average improvement? :(

Because its cheap, low budget memory.

Im sure you could try and give it a tiny little Overclock.

If it has the right cooling. But just remember its at your own risk!

Depends really on how good memory you want.

If you order from Aria then i recommend OCZ.

But if you dont then go for GSkill 8)

yea i heard OCZ is the best :D

i think ill need DDR 400 as i cannot get DDR2 memory :P

what would be the price for 2 X 1GB DDR 400 OCZ?

I am running 1gb of crucial pc333, jus their basic memory and I have it oclocked fsb 218 mhz or 436 mhz which has rasied my xp4200 x2 from 2.2 ghz to 2.4 ghz the same speed as a xp4600 x2. I am sure with better memory I could get near xp5000 x2 speed.

Its not much of a jump in the memory speed but it gave a nice boost cpu speed. I might take it bit higher but this memory freezes once I hit 223 mhz or 446 mhz.

The conreo rig that I am going build will have ocz pc8000 or pc8500 to do some serious overclocking.

ocz have just got memory that will run at 1100 mhz default.

It shouldn't be too long until ddr 3 is used in mobo's which will mean new boards ect.
