I have a problem on a topic i hardly understand.

Hoping someone here can shed some light on the topic and solve my problem.

Recently there has been some new tracking software released, and its a must have for all shipping company's.

Now i dont understand what the old one did or the new one.

Except this.

UNIX > WINDOWS XP > PRINTER

Need to get that working using LPD or something

Anyone heard of this? (Gonna be a long day :()

Hi Bels....Are you trying to get network print globally from all stations via LPD?

Does it have a print server....Netport or sumit?

Anyway...heres some links that may help...! good luck mate....its always a bind...at first to get the bloody thing to work, erm when you do...write it down as you know as well as me...its gonna go bits up from time to time..!

Hope this helps mate...!..

Thanks for the links Mighty 8)

This new tracking software for containers, has to be setup using LPD.

All i know is that every company who does shipping, needs to upgrade there software. And it has to be setup in either 2 ways.

One is where the software sends an email, which attachments.

Or where it prints using LPD.

Now everything is setup as far as i can tell, but it will not print. It will either say \"Printer Is Busy\" or Just sit in the queue or something

Ill have a search through the links and see if i can find something.

This may be easier for people to Understand. Im trying to give as much info as possible i really am confused by this though.

When we use LPD printing for one machine to another then to the printer, the printing job joins the queue but doesn't print.

Because i just tried it again here on a different network, same problem. Ive turned off the firewall, Anti Virus ect... Something must be stopping it from having full control of the printer.
