I'm glad it happened. When we won it a few years ago all the Goons were saying how unimportant it was, mickey mouse cup etc. This year they get to the final and it's important again. All undone by a fantastic goalkeeper.

Oh, and Van Persie limped off. Season over!

this will give Arsenals confidence a battering going into the second game with Barca in the CL and i can see them getting humped at the Nou Camp.

forum being a discussion about the result :P

Another case of Arsenal being undone at the back, it was a shame it went this way thanks to a howler of epic proportion, would have liked to see how it would have gone into extra time, but I bet Wenger wouldn't have wanted that with the Gunners congested fictures list.

You just have to look at the "bench" of those not playing, Fabbie, Walcot etc. None of them were the experienced head really that Arsenal needed. The calmer :) I did think young Wilshere was very good, looking forward to seeing if the Gunners can keep him fit, they seem to have a nice long injured list, and have done for seasons past as well. Makes me wonder.

Many congrats to the Brummies though, a hard fought win and a really fine performance, probably the best I've seen from Foster.

It's nice to see the "underdog" win :) Spices things up a bit, does that put Birmingham into Europe?

DT.

Added after 3 minutes:

winners of the cup go to UEFA Cup, or as it is called now the UEFA Europa League

Birmingham were very good and deserved it . Always thought big eck was a decent manager at rangers and now he's proving it in England . Seems to get luck on his side too mind you .......

@DT

Yep, Brum in Europe. I can't see them going down this season either. Nice injection of funds and with a little investment over the summer, I can see them being a top 10 team next season.

While they weathered a storm, Arsenal should of had the keeper sent off, and a penalty likely conceded when Bowyer was taken out.

How that was considered offside I have no idea!

Ben Foster should be first choice England Keeper!

Blues wasn't lucky, it just took 1 mistake from Arsenal and we pounced on it! You have to take your chances to win.. Ben Foster kept us in the game, quality keeper, he defo deserved man of the match!

Well done to the Brum. I had a feeling they would win after having to listen all week to the radio how Arsenal are the best footballing side the world has ever seen, soon as they win this trophy they'll win everything blah blah blah.

Great stuff

After seeing Joe Hart's howlers this season I think your right tbh. Foster has been more consistent, but as per usual, Capello doesn't see that because only seems interested in top 6 teams or players that are already known.

Really happy for the Birmingham supporters. Amazed to see Stevie Carr still doing the business like he did for us, feels like a life time ago since he left.

Fergie should have clung onto him considering VDS is retiring in a few months!

No he shouldnt letting Foster go was good deal for the player and for Utd he not good enough for Utd has made to many howlers during the season did it on loan at watford and did it when given chance at utd.
He should stick to the carling cup seems to do well in that :thumb:

Englands no1? Joe Hart, Foster no2, green no3.

I was actually on the train to Birmingham which went through Wembley with about 5 minutes left of the game.

A lot of Arsenal supporters got on, they were griping but saying that Birmingham deserved the win.

I can't imagine what bedlam the train to Birmingham after mine must have been like. Sorry for any Arsenal supporters who's stop was on that route!
