he ran up from behind, hit him in the face with his elbow and carried on as if nothing had happened the cheating little **** bag. this guy is a leading role model for our kids and yet he continues to act like a thug still on a council estate.
as you can see from the pics it was rooney, the game was at 0-0 at the time so in a way manu have cheated another 3 points as they went on to win with 11 men when they should of struggled with 10 at most.
Assault? more like self defence that pie eater ran in front of him!! :cop:
1 game ban so he will miss next Sundays Man united game away to....
I can happily say that he is no role model for anybody in my household...
Oh no.... oh look life is going on.
In his defence, watch the run he makes to catch up with the play and how, at the last second, he sees the Wigan guy and has to check his run to get round him, in that situation you either lead with your arm for leverage and momentum to force your way past or you collide with the player.
Seems to me he just chose the wrong body movement and connected awkwardly, i dont think it was intentional at all.
That also is pretty much what the ref said, which was the reason he wasn't booked.
Come to Leeds and do that you scally :censored:!
Didn't see you do that when we beat you at your place !
im not going to argue that he wasnt trying to block his run with his body, but thats allowed in the rules, elbows to the face erm not so much no.
you could see from the refs reaction he didnt see the event, he blow up because the deffender was holding his head as per rules on head injury. his later interaction with roo showed he thought it was just a coming together and overreaction when the swelling that came up during the rest of the half said otherwise.
No action taken.. from the beeb.
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will face no action from the Football Association after he appeared to elbow Wigan midfielder James McCarthy.
Wonder what odds he is to get first goal tomorrow???

Gerrard is, but it doesnt mean no one else is.
Thing i Gerrard generally gets more slack than others.
I saw a comment elsewhere today saying one rule for Man U, another for everyone else, well I dont think Rio would agree with that after the way he was treated over missing a drugs test, considering others doing the same only got a fine.
Just to add, Im a Darlo fan, so it doesnt bother me whether Rooney gets a 15 game ban for it, but I think that most premiership fans have a downer on anything Man Utd and cant see that the same goes on at most clubs, across all divisions, to varying degrees.

scouser assaults man in wigan as if its the norm for scousers.. lived in liverpool all my life never been assulted robbed or beaten up very stereotypical title there :thumb:
Rooney being an ******** has nothing to do with him being a scouser its to with him being an ******** FACT he would have been one no matter where he come from... its genetics. or maybe its cause he's player for manpoo
he has been infected with the darkside.
but still not as bad as Ashley Cole shooting a member of ground staff with a air rifle.....he isn't a scouser but carries a rifle/GUN to work LOL

No action because the ref gave a free kick.
Was hoping he would get banned as Berbs and Hernandez make United far more lethal and better to watch when Rooney isn't on the pitch.

That's only partly the reason. If he said he didn't deal with the incident properly then the F.A could have dealt with it but they spoke to Clattenburg and he said he thinks he dealt with it effectively.
and we all know that Clattenburg is a :censored: anyway

No the reason is that FIFA stop the national FA's from acting if the ref dealt with it. By giving a free kick he effectively dealt with the incident there and then.
Taken from the Sky Sports website....
However, it would appear that Clattenburg's explanation of the challenge has left the FA with no scope to act retrospectively within the current rules as Fifa forbids national associations taking further action when the referee had already dealt with the incident.
