Former Spurs, Wolves and Southampton centre back dies aged 36.

This guy had bags of potential, definately England calibre of his generation until that illness got him. Sad news.

And 36 years old? WTF is that. Awful

RIP mate.

Dizziness and Headaches caused him to retire and they say he battled a long term illness?
Wikipedia suggests it was an inner ear infection that caused these symptoms, but that shouldn't kill him. Unless the infection got into his cerebro-spinal fluid.
Overall I would say either he had no infection and in fact had something called an Acoustic Neuroma, that is a type of cancer, which then spread.
Or he never had an inner ear problem at all and the dizziness was caused by an aneurysm in the brain that was inoperable.

Whichever, its really sad that someone so young passes away.
You never know how long you have. Live for today people!

RIP Dean

A very sad loss, especially at just 36. He always played great in a Spurs shirt.

I'm a yid and remember being really happy when we signed him. For ages I was quite critical of his so called illness during the sicknote years, put into perspective when he retired so young it made sense.

Now it just makes too much sense.
