who broke the forums this morning?

i tried to have a look on here about 7:45 ish and i was told i didnt have the correct rights to see the root directory??

Yup someone forgot to put 50p in the meter... Nft and I told the guys in IT this morning. If it wasnt for us you wouldnt have had any forums for a lot longer :P

lol, it was because someone deleted the index.php in the forums sub-folder and the server does not allow global browsing (meaning you can see every single file in that forums folder unless it has an index file in there.

Nah, Aria doesnt even have FTP because VISA doesnt allow them to have FTP because of security.

The email address for the webmaster was .de does that mean the server is in Germany? If so thats a long journey!

No the server is in the UK, name servers can be anything, because it ends in the german domain prefix doesnt mean the server is in Germany. What happens is the name servers are linked to one or several ip address's and them ip address's are the ip/s or the server so when you buy a domain and you set the name servers to say ns1.test.com and you then go to that domain it will look at the name servers which finds the servers ip and loads the site from that name server (ip).

Yup, the server that the forum is on is in Germany, most of our others are in the UK
