View Full Version : [PC PROBLEM] Need Help, Regarding the Gladiator BLACK OPS X Gaming PC Related.

Hello all, about a month ago i purchased the Gladiator BLACK OPS X Gaming PC. Started off great, everything you would want in a brand in gaming machine, ran all my games fine at max.

Then, i was in the middle of playing online (on WoW) and all of a sudden the machine randomly turned off. I though, Hmm thats weird, so i decided to try and turn it back on which is the problem, it doesn't start up anymore so i can't use it.

When i turn on the Psu (back switch) i can see a green bulb lit up on the motherboard (as far as i can tell its the motherboard its coming from, cant see very clearly through the grid at the front).

So that green light is on but when i try and turn on the machine nothing happens.

However, not every time but sometimes, the top fan moves about a centimeter as though its trying to start up but has next to no power. apart from the fan(s) moving a centimeter sometimes when i try and turn it on, nothing else happens, no power lights at the top like usual etc.

What i've tried

Replacing the fuse in the power lead
Using my old power lead (from my old PC)
Making sure leads are pushed into the back properly
Turning the PSU off and on and trying again
Leaving it for a while and then trying again

Any responses i would be grateful for, thanks.

Amazingly fast reponse Callum :)

Im happy im not the only one this has happened too then :) Did you have to increase the wattage of the PSU or did u just get a replacement of the same Psu.

I have no idea what 'RMA' is at this very moment, but ill look on their main website and im sure ill find out.

Thanks again.

no i didn't increase anything it was just a crappy branded psu that i had bought when i first got into building pc's. one day it was working fine then one day i was doing college work and my computer powered off itself and wouldnt go back on again but like you said the fans would try and spin up and get a flash of light (mines were led fans) and it would cut off again.

im only going with what happened with me but im sure other people will be able to give you more advice on the issue :) and with RMA's i couldn't help you out with because i haven't done an RMA request before :(

I had a quick look into RMA and that seems fairly straight forward although i don't know if i'm right to assume that i can take the PSU out of the case and send the PSU only without voiding the warranty in anyway by moving components in the case (shouldn't see why it would but you never know)

Am going to ring aria on Thursday when i have time off work to discuss it with them using the information i get from this thread.

im not 100% but i think systems need to go back whole for rma as the warrenty is for the whole system.

Shame its a massive PC in that case :) will take a while to package up again compared to the time it would take to re-box the psu and package it.

Take the power supply out, connect a fan to one of the molex connectors on the powersupply, then take a small piece of wire and short the green wire with any black wire on the 24 pin connector like this:

Plug the power into the psu, turn the switch on.. if the fan you connect is spinning then the psu is working ok, so the fault will be else where.

bearing in mind the level of testing the user has done, external of the case testing - I think that advice is probably a few steps too far :)

Can confirm what DoubleTop says. I wouldnt feel comfortable doing that mainly because i dont want to void the warranty in any way or damage the psu. Thanks for your advice though Alfizzle, at least ive gained some knowledge :)

Sorry didnt know your level of knowledge.. and i hate to say stupid things to people like "have you turned it on" as its an insult to intelligence.

Your posts sounded like you knew quite abit about the internals of computers, so i felt comfortable telling you what to do.

Thanks for acknowledging my post tho!. :thumb:

I assume this is intentional?

And to the OP, do as previously mentioned and send it back.

No prob Alfizzle, Built my old Pc bit by bit so i got the basic idea of putting a system together but apart from that im pretty much useless when it comes to pc's. Appreciate you helping out though, same goes for the others too.

Will deffo ring on thursday and see what happens from then, sounds like i will have to repackage the whole thing again which is a bit of a pain but if it fixes the problem then i cant complain.

:)
