Internet use has changed dramatically over the last few years and this is likely to continue. We need to increase our prices so we can still give you the level of service you’d expect from us.

From 31 March 2011 your monthly broadband cost will be £14.50 and your monthly call package will be £10.00 (including line rental). The minimum charge for calls made outside your package will be 12.8p. Any discount or free period you already have – like a three months free offer – will stay unchanged.

You don’t need to do anything, but if you’d like to know more about your options, or want to compare our prices to the market, go to o2.co.uk/pca

Best regards

I spoke to o2 the other week. The old package that IS going up in price has no traffic shaping. Their new packages do have shaping. So it's worth trying to stay on the old package if you use your Internet during peak times for video streaming etc.
I told them I was considering going BT infinity and they offered me a reduction of around £4 (can't really remember exactly what it was) that would basically keep my prices the same for 12 months. Providing I signed a new 12 month contract of course.
I did, because I think it's worth a tenner or so to have unlimited unshaped Internet.

It's worth threatening to leave.

What does the regulator say about notice periods?

Some operators have been chastised for not allowing enough time for people to respond.
