Hi guys,

I'm thinking about buying a new monitor in the near future to replace my 17" one that came bundled with a rubbish pc package I bought about 2-3 years ago. Max budget is £200, and I was thinking of either getting a good 19" or a maybe not so good 22". Do you have any reccomendations?, and do you choose quality over quantity?

Thinking about some of these.

19" LG (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+19/19%22+LG+Widescreen+LCD+Monitor+?productId=30509)

22" LG (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/22%22+LG+Widescreen+TFT+Monitor+with+DVI+?productI d=30546)

or perhaps this 24" BenQ (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+24+%2B/24%22+BenQ+G2400Wa+Widescreen+Monitor+?productId=3 0565) that comes under budget

Any advice would be much appreciated because I don't want to regret my purchase.

Cheers:mrgreen:

Oh forgot to mention I would really like a widescreen for movies etc. and probably a digital connection.

have the Lg 226wtq and am very happy with it, i originally ordered a 19inch Acer but it was faulty on arrival decided to pay extra and got the LG its a great monitor.

not seen any reviews on the Benq yet no DVi on it, if you want to get a 24inch get a hd model (hyundai, dell ) but either of those will cost near £400 :(

Oh, my bad, should have seen that review. I like the specs of the lg226wtq monitor you recommended nft99. It stacks up pretty well compared to the LG L197WH I was having a look at, cheers. What is it like for gaming, the lg226wtq.

£15 for 3inch extra is well worth it imo, plus when you game everything will be a bit bigger so easier to see.

both are great speced tho, dvi with hdcp is a min req if you ask me for any screen you buy today.

this one is worth a look too, alot more res but its contrast ratio is lower, hey you cant have it all. 24" and you was hoping for 22 so a plus in my eyes and even better its under budget (just :D).

That is a nice screen, but I think i'd go for the 22" with more contrast.

Sounds good. Just found some hi-res images of the monitor on the official website and it looks stunning. The image on aria just doesn't do it justice.

Sorry I should say 1 hi-res image. If possible could you post some images of yours so I can see what it looks like all set up?

these are the 2 monitors i am looking at and i would recommend them both:

20" LG Widescreen Designer LCD Monitor £164.44 inc. VAT
http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/20%22+LG+Widescreen+Designer+LCD+Monitor+?productI d=30508

Contrast ratio: 5000:1 <---AMAZING!
Response time: 2ms <----Cant beat it!
Resolution 1680 x 1050 <----Amazing!

22" Asus VW222S Widescreen TFT Monitor £169.14 inc. VAT
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/22%22+Asus+VW222S+Widescreen+TFT+Monitor?productId =28878

Contrast ratio: 2000:1 <----Very good (not as good)
Response time: 2ms <----Cant beat it!
Resolution 1680 x 1050 <----Amazing! (although because it is a larger monitor it will have a ever so slightly lower quality image but this will not be noticable to)

Hope this has helped
